Scouting report

HOU WR Tank Dell - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Tank Dell may have been small in stature, but he sure came up big at times as a rookie. He recorded over 700 yards and seven touchdowns and that with with missing six games. As our John Paulsen notes, Dell would have been WR7 in terms of fantasy points per game. He is currently being drafted as the WR26. Quarterback C.J. Stroud should continue to look Dell's way in Year 2.

Fantasy Downside

Stefon Diggs is going to steal some targets from Dell and Nico Collins and his 100+ targets are also still around. That will limit Dell's ceiling. Dell recovered from a fractured fibula from last season but also suffered a gunshot wound back in May. He should be good for Week 1 against the Colts.

2024 Bottom Line

Dell can be boom or bust, perhaps even more so now that Diggs is in the mix. But as a WR3? You can do a whole lot worse. Dell is going in the 5th round in 12-team drafts, behind his two running mates.

HOU WR Tank Dell - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Denver Broncos

Make it four straight games with a touchdown for Tank Dell as he continues his impressive rookie season. He is becoming a strong favorite for quarterback C.J. Stroud. Denver has been much better on defense, but Houston has been clicking on offense and as long as that continues, Dell has become more than worthy of remaining as a fantasy starter moving forward.

HOU WR Tank Dell - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Tank Dell reached 100 yards for the second time in three weeks in last week's win over the Cardinals. It was his third 100-yard performance for the season and a season-high at that with 149. One of those 100-yard games? Week 4 against the Jaguars. Dell is on a roll right now with four touchdowns in the past three games. No reason to shy away from him now.

HOU WR Tank Dell - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Tank Dell saw a season-high 14 targets last week. Part of that was Houston not having Nico Collins, but it was nice to see Dell take advantage, at least somewhat. Six catches, 56 yards and a touchdown. Dell is a bit boom-or-bust, but he has a chance to boom against Arizona. He's a nice flex option this week, especially with four teams off this week.

HOU WR Tank Dell - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Cincinnati Bengals

Tank Dell came back in a big way last week against the Buccaneers. Six catches, 114 yards, two touchdowns on 11 targets. That was more yards than his previous three games combined. Look for C.J. Stroud to continue looking Dell's way for some explosive plays as the Texans try to keep up with the Bengals' offense and Joe Burrow. It won't be an easy matchup, but one big play, which Dell can easily deliver, makes all the difference.

HOU WR Tank Dell - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tank Dell had seven touches last week against the Panthers, including three rushes. The downside is that those touches totaled just 31 yards. This is two games out of the last three with under 20 yards receiving for Dell. However, this week is a chance to make some noise. The Buccaneers have struggled against the pass this season, so there’s a chance for an explosive play or two this week from Dell, making him a borderline flex option.

HOU WR Tank Dell - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Carolina Panthers

Tank Dell should be back this week after missing Week 6 with a concussion. He’s been about as boom-or-bust as they come this season, but that’s understandable for a rookie wide receiver with a rookie quarterback, even one as good as C.J. Stroud. Dell gets a favorable matchup in Week 8 against the Panthers, but you don’t have to feel forced to play him with every team available. But you can consider him for your flex.
