Scouting report

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Chicago

Teddy Bridgewater had his best game of the season last week, finishing with 316 yards (a season high), two touchdowns (another season high) and no interceptions. The emergence of rookie Stefon Diggs has increased his numbers by a large margin.

His strong performances will likely carry on into this week as he gets a favorable matchup against the Bears. Chicago has allowed some big games to quarterbacks, including over 400 yards two weeks ago. They have also given up the second-most passing touchdowns (15).

Bridgewater typically isn't the type of quarterback to post huge numbers, so his ceiling is a bit limited, but there's a lot to like this week. He's not a great option, but he'll fill in nicely if you need him.

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Detroit

Teddy Bridgewater has been decent so far this season. He hasn't been a great fantasy quarterback up to this point, considering he has just three passing touchdowns through five starts. He's also thrown four interceptions.

If there is a week for Bridgewater to have big game, it would be this week against Detroit as the Lions have been awful against the pass all season. Bridgewater was excellent against them in Week 2, completing 14-of-18 passes with no interceptions. He also had two touchdowns that game (one passing, one rushing). Bridgewater also has the addition of Stefon Diggs this week, which he didn't have in Week 2. Look for a strong game from Bridgewater in Week 7. He's a low-end QB1.

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Kansas City

Teddy Bridgewater has a dream matchup this week against Kansas City, but it's not that sexy when you look at his season's stats. Bridgewater isn't asked to do much for Minnesota, and he has just two touchdown passes in four games this season.

On top of that, Bridgewater may be without his top two receivers in Mike Wallace and Charles Johnson, as both are questionable heading into this game. This is a great matchup, but don't expect big numbers from Bridgewater.

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Denver

Teddy Bridgewater doesn't have to do a whole lot because he has Adrian Peterson behind him making plays. This has resulted in Bridgewater throwing just one touchdown pass through three games, and failing to reach 160 yards in each of his last two performances.

Bridgewater's low numbers may get even lower in Week 4 as he takes on the Broncos, who have the top pass defense in football right now. Denver has allowed just one passing touchdown and has forced six interceptions already this season. Bridgewater is one of the poorer QB plays this week.

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. San Diego
Teddy Bridgewater hasn't exactly had a strong start to the season in terms of fantasy value. He's averaging less than 200 yards per game and has just one touchdown pass. He does have a rushing touchdown, but those will be rare. Bridgewater has been successful for the Vikings, completing 74 percent of his passes, but that doesn't translate to fantasy points. This week he'll face a mediocre Chargers defense. Don't expect a monster performance, however, because that's not really Bridgewater's role. He should be viewed as a QB2 this week.

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Teddy Bridgewater - Week 2 vs. Detroit

Teddy Bridgewater's performance in Week 1 wasn't bad in real life (72 percent completion percentage, 231 yards), but he didn't do himself many favors in fantasy.. He didn't have a touchdown pass and threw an interception while getting sacked five times.

He'll look to improve in Week 2 against Detroit, as the Lions are the only defense to give up over 400 passing yards in a game so far this season. We don't expect Bridgewater to put up those numbers, but it does bode well for his success this week. He won't be an awful play in Week 2, but if you have a stronger option we'd suggest you go with them. Bridgewater's ceiling isn't as high as some other players.

MIN QB Teddy Bridgewater - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. San Francisco

Teddy Bridgewater is a promising player, but first he has to show it. The second-year quarterback had a phenomenal preseason in 2014, completing 83 percent of his passes while having a 111.3 QB rating in three games.

He gets a decent matchup against San Francisco in Week 1, but the main problem with Bridgewater is he may not get a chance to finish with a lot of pass attempts. The Vikings offense will likely lean heavily on Adrian Peterson rather than Bridgewater. The Vikings QB isn't a horrible option this week, but chances are you have better options.
