Scouting report

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Tennessee Titans
Tee Higgins had another rough evening even though he was targeted eight times. He ended up with two receptions for 21 yards. Ja'Marr Chase ended up with the big numbers while Higgins had trouble connecting with QB Joe Burrow.

Higgins has a good matchup this Sunday as the Titans are ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. He had a big game last season against Tennessee with seven receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown.

Start Higgins as a solid WR2 for Week 4. Even though he has had only one good fantasy outing to start the season, Higgins is very capable of having positive games each week and Burrow should also improve with his calf injury.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Los Angeles Rams
After getting shutout in Week 1, Tee Higgins bounced back with a big afternoon for Cincy. He caught eight passes and was the most targeted receiver for the Bengals. He ended up with 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is still playing with a quarterback that isn't healthy which is worrisome.

Higgins will face the Rams who are ranked 20th in aFPA to wide receivers. He is capable of having big games at any time, but can he do it back-to-back weeks?

Start Higgins as a solid WR2 for Week 3. Although he outplayed Ja'Marr Chase last week, we know that Higgins is still the No. 2 target for QB Joe Burrow and that will play out most weeks.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Baltimore Ravens
What an awful 2023 debut for Tee Higgins. He had ZERO catches despite being targeted eight times and that is a shocking number. A lot of it had to do with QB Joe Burrow's performance and there is really no way to go but up.

The Ravens are up next at home and Higgins struggled against them last season. In two meetings, he had a combined 13 targets which produced only five receptions for 44 yards.

Start Higgins even with some negatives from last week and last season. He is still going to be an integral part of the Bengals offense. Expect him to get back on the stat sheet as a WR2 for Week 2.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Cleveland Browns
Tee Higgins is playing to win but he is also playing for a big contract. He has performed like a No. 1 receiver at times and if it wasn't for Ja'Marr Chase, he would be the Bengals No. 1.

Higgins faces Cleveland who has a very good defense and gives Cincinnati fits. He only played in one meeting against the Browns last season and was held to 49 receiving yards. Higgins has never had a huge game against his division rival.

Start Higgins as a solid WR2 for Week 1. He is projected to have four receptions for 60 yards and that would be about what he has averaged against Cleveland during his career.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Tee Higgins' numbers have been very similar his first three seasons and he might be a No. 1 receiver on several NFL teams. The Bengals offense gives him a chance for big games at any time and having Joe Burrow throwing to him helps. Higgins is big and physical which really is his biggest asset and having Ja'Marr Chase on the other side helps.

Fantasy Downside
Even though his numbers have been consistent, his fantasy points per game dropped last season as he missed two games in 2021. So, this might be his ceiling in Cincinnati because of other options on the Bengals.

2023 Bottom Line
Higgins ranks as a high-end WR2 for 2023 and is the 14th wide receiver coming off the board which is about right. Kind of agree with the analysis that his numbers so far in his career are his ceiling, but he is still a quality wide receiver who can be your No. 2. Third round is about right to take Higgins.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Buffalo Bills
Tee Higgins had been disappointing fantasy managers over three games prior to last week - only producing 68 receiving yards during that span. But he rewarded them last week, with eight receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown. It was his fourth 100+ receiving-yard game of the season and it was the fourth time in the last five games he scored a touchdown.

Higgins has a good matchup against Buffalo who is ranked 25th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Bengals offense has been clicking and he has shown he is capable of big games like last week. He is also capable of disappearing although injuries hurt him in those cases.

Start Higgins as low-end WR1 for Week 17. This should be a very big offensive game for both teams and we expect Higgins will be a benefactor from that type of game.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New England Patriots
After sitting most of the game two weeks ago, Tee Higgins bounced back with eight targets and five receptions. He only had 33 receiving yards but did score his sixth touchdown of 2022. Higgins is always capable of a big game each week which makes him a valuable fantasy wide receiver.

Next up is the Patriots defense which ranks 7th in aFPA to wide receivers. The hamstring that kept him catchless two weeks ago seems to be fine now. Start him as a solid WR2 for Week 16 despite the tough road matchup in New England.
