WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Giants

Terry McLaurin easily led Washington in targets last week as he saw 11 (the second-highest saw four). As a result, he had a strong stat line of 6-81. McLaurin hasn't been overly dominate this season, but he's been fairly consistent with at least four receptions and 40 receiving yards in five consecutive games. This week he gets a middle-of-the-road matchup against the Giants (13th aFPA). Last season, McLaurin played well against the Giants with stat lines of 8-105-1 and 6-70-0, although obviously a lot has changed in the past year. We like McLaurin as a solid WR2 option this week.

WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Atlanta Falcons

Sam Howell threw the ball 51 times last week, but surprisingly Terry McLaurin only saw five targets, finishing 4-49-0. Three of those five targets came on Washington's final three drives of the game as McLaurin was mostly ignored despite the Commanders passing nearly every play. The ball was spread around a lot as 10 players had at least two targets for Washington. McLaurin's low production could continue this week as he gets a tough matchup against the Falcons who are 3rd in aFPA to WRs. We like McLaurin as a WR3 for Week 6.

WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Chicago Bears

Terry McLaurin saw a team-high 10 targets last week, finishing 8-86. McLaurin's targets, receptions and receiving yards in Week 4 were all season highs for him. He also lucked into a touchdown as he recovered a teammate's fumble in the end zone. Through four games this season, McLaurin is averaging 5.3 receptions for 53 yards, which means he averages double digits in PPR formats, which is a nice mark to clear. This week, he draws a favorable matchup against a poor Bears defense. We like him as a strong WR2 play for Week 5.

WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Philadelphia Eagles

In Week 3, Terry McLaurin saw six targets and finished 6-41-0. Through three games, McLaurin is WR46 in half-PPR, which is well below what his ceiling is. It's early in the season, though, and we expect Scary Terry to bounce back to form. This week he faces an Eagles defense that's giving up the 8th-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. McLaurin had success against Philly last year as he topped 100 yards in both of his games against the Eagles. McLaurin should be viewed as a solid WR2 option against the Eagles in Week 4.

WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Buffalo Bills

Terry McLaurin had a nice outing in Week 2, finishing 6-54-1 on a team-high six targets. It was a nice performance after he had just two catches in Week 1. Heading into Week 3, McLaurin gets a fairly tough matchup against the Bills. So far this season, Buffalo has given up the 6th-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. McLaurin should be viewed as a mid-tier WR2 or a strong WR3 option for Week 3.

WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Denver Broncos

Terry McLaurin's playing time wasn't affected by his pre-season injury. He played on 89% of the offensive snaps, which was the most out of any non QB or offensive lineman. The production wasn't really there, though, as McLaurin finished 2-31 on four targets. Three other options for Washington saw more targets than McLaurin in Week 1. Things won't get much easier in Week 2 as McLaurin faces the Broncos. Denver gave up the 4th-fewest fantasy points to WRs last season. McLaurin should be viewed as a low-end WR2 option for Week 2.

WAS WR Terry McLaurin - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Terry McLaurin set a career high in receiving yards last year (1,191) despite playing with three different quarterbacks. We did like him as a value play in the draft given his ADP, but a preseason turf toe injury hurt those projections. CBS Sports reports the team is "optimistic" McLaurin will play in Week 1, but a turf toe can be a nagging injury that may limit McLaurin. The matchup itself against the Cardinals is a decent one. They technically didn't allow many fantasy points to WRs last season, but part of that is because of their poor run defense. McLaurin should be viewed more in WR3 range in Week 1 due to his injury.
