Scouting report

NO RB Tim Hightower - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Detroit
Tim Hightower rushed 28 times for 85 yards and a touchdown while also catching his lone target for 10 yards in the Saints Week 14 win over the Bucs. For desperate owners that had to roll the dice on New Orleans' backfield situation last week, they were rewarded with a solid performance out of Hightower. With C.J. Spiller playing only 15 snaps against the Bucs, one would think that Hightower would see similar opportunities moving forward. Sean Payton could always throw fantasy owners a curveball and increase Spiller's touches, but ESPN's Mike Triplett expects that Hightower will continue to be the Saints' lead back and so do we. Ranked as our RB19 for Week 15, view Hightower as a RB2 against the Lions this Sunday.

NO RB Tim Hightower - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tampa Bay
With Mark Ingram (shoulder) placed on season-ending injured reserve, Tim Hightower could take over as the Saints early-down back. One would think that C.J. Spiller would have an expanded role in Sean Payton's offense, but Spiller has been used sparingly this season after he signed with the Saints in the offseason. The bottom line is that nobody knows how Payton is going to deploy his running backs for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. With this being the first round of the playoffs for many fantasy owners, it's best to avoid the New Orleans backfield situation altogether. Spiller ranks as our RB32 in PPR formats, while Hightower ranks as our RB41. If you're desperate, Spiller is probably the better choice as a boom-or-bust option, but Hightower may wind up getting the goal-line work for Payton. Proceed with caution.
