NO WR Tre’Quan Smith - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Dallas Cowboys

Tre’Quan Smith was declared inactive on Thanksgiving night due to a foot injury, but he should return this week when the Saints visit the Cowboys on Thursday. Smith was limited in practice on both Monday and Tuesday but getting in back-to-back practices was a positive sign for his playing status. Ranked as our WR38 for Week 13, view Smith as a boom-or-bust flex option versus a Dallas defense that ranks No. 13 against fantasy receivers this season.

NO WR Tre’Quan Smith - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Tre’Quan Smith caught 10-of-13 targets for 157 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ Week 11 win over the Eagles. Considering he wasn’t even targeted a week ago in Cincinnati despite New Orleans scoring 50 points, this was a shocking performance by Smith. Drew Brees constantly peppered Smith throughout the first half, including in the two-minute drill where the receiver finished with a 22-yard catch and a 15-yard touchdown in which he absorbed a big hit. Smith is a boom-or-bust option for Thursday’s matchup with the Falcons but he’s worth a flier in the FLEX given how much Atlanta’s cornerbacks have struggled this season. Ranked as our WR19 for Week 12, we would view Smith as a low- end WR2. Just monitor his status throughout the week because he is currently dealing with a foot injury that left him as a “DNP” on Monday and Tuesday.

NO WR Tre’Quan Smith - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Tre’Quan Smith was not targeted in the Saints’ Week 10 win over the Bengals. Since catching three passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns against Washington in Week 5, Smith has totaled eight receptions for 85 yards. Even in a great matchup with the Eagles this weekend, avoid Smith in all formats.

NO WR Tre’Quan Smith - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Cincinnati Bengals

Tre-Quan Smith caught two-of-three targets for 23 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ win over the Rams in Week 9. His touchdown came on the goal line in the second quarter and otherwise saved fantasy owners’ days who took a flier on him in their FLEX spot. Smith has otherwise disappointed since Ted Ginn Jr. went down with injury and will be nothing more than a dart throw when the Saints visit the Bengals on Sunday. Smith ranks as our WR42 for Week 10 and we would recommend avoiding him.

NO WR Tre’Quan Smith - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Los Angeles Rams

TreQuan Smith caught three-of-four targets for 18 yards in the Saints’ Week 8 win over the Vikings. Smith continues to out-snap Cameron Meredith but the only receiver worth starting in this Saints offense right now is Michael Thomas. Even though the betting total for Sunday’s Saints-Rams game is currently sitting at 59.5 points, Smith can be avoided. He ranks as our WR37 for Week 9.

NO WR Tre’Quan Smith Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Minnesota Vikings

Tre’Quan Smith caught three-of-six targets for 44 yards in the Saints’ Week 7 win over the Ravens. Since Ted Ginn went down, Smith has caught six passes on nine targets. Despite being the next-best option behind Michael Thomas in the team’s passing game, the Saints have become more balanced since Mark Ingram returned from his four-game suspension. Ranked as our WR48 for Week 8, avoid using Smith when the Saints travel to Minnesota on Sunday night. He simply doesn’t see enough looks in the passing game.

NO WR Tre’Quan Smith - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Baltimore Ravens

Tre’Quan Smith caught all three of his targets for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 5 win over the Redskins. With Ted Ginn out with a knee injury, Smith took advantage of the increased role in the team’s passing game. He caught a 62-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, a pass that allowed Drew Brees to become the NFL’s all-time passing yards leader in the process. With Ginn now on injured reserve, Smith becomes the main benefactor. Ranked as our WR61 for Week 7, there’s no reason to start Smith this weekend when the Saints visit the Ravens but he’s worth stashing on your bench if you have a roster spot available.
