Scouting report

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Seattle Seahawks
Tyler Conklin had a decent game last week with four receptions for 34 yards. He has shown to be a solid fantasy tight end at times this season, but there has been some inconsistency. This week is a favorable matchup against Seattle who is ranked 23rd in aFPA to tight ends.

The Jets also go back to quarterback Mike White for Week 17 which should help the overall passing game. But not enough to warrant a start for Conklin as he ranks as a TE2 this Sunday.

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
After being targeted 15 times the previous two games, Tyler Conklin was targeted twice last Sunday which produced only one catch. Zach Wilson was back behind center so that is a concern for anyone who rosters Conklin.

The Jaguars are up next and they are ranked 27th in aFPA to tight ends. Even with the favorable matchup we don't expect much from Conklin this week. Keep him on the bench as an TE2 for Week 16 since Wilson will be back at quarterback this Thursday.

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Detroit Lions
Tyler Conklin was targeted eight times which produced five receptions, but it only yielded 28 receiving yards. This helped anyone who played him in a PPR league and he's had games like this, although not as much lately.

There is a good matchup for Conklin this week against Detroit who is ranked 27th in aFPA to tight ends. However, even with the good matchup, keep Conklin on the bench for Week 15. He hasn't been as targeted as often in the second half of the season, despite what happened last week.

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Buffalo Bills
Tyler Conklin was targeted seven times which only produced two receptions for 9 yards. Despite the heavy targets this past week, his numbers have been low overall and his fantasy value has been flat because of the lack of production.

Conklin faces the Bills who are ranked 1st in aFPA to tight ends. In the first meeting with Buffalo, he only had one reception for 7 yards. The numbers have not been good lately for the veteran tight end and with an unfavorable matchup, he should remain on the bench for Week 14.

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Minnesota Vikings
Tyler Conklin had three receptions for 50 yards last week with the quarterback change in New York. He has been up and down with his fantasy stats most of the year but seemed better with Mike White behind center.

He will face Minnesota next who is ranked 25th in aFPA to tight ends. We like this matchup, but Conklin still only ranks as a high-end TE2 for Week 13. If you have big rosters, there could be some help as a Flex but the bench is probably the best place for him.

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears
Tyler Conklin has only three catches for 22 yards over the past two games. The Jets offense has been bad overall which has affected him, as he had some fantasy value throughout this season.

Conklin will face the Bears who are ranked 13th in aFPA to tight ends. We will have to see how the quarterback change for New York affects him, but for now, keep him on the bench as a TE2 for Week 12.

NYJ TE Tyler Conklin - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at New England Patriots
The last game for Tyler Conklin before the bye was not a good one. He had only two targets and one reception. These have been the norm since early in the season with the exception of the first meeting with this week's opponent New England.

Conklin had 10 targets and six receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns. It was his best game of the season. New England ranks 25th in aFPA to tight ends so Conklin isn't the only one who has had some success. But we think the Pats will be more aware of him and this game is on the road so keep him on the bench for Week 11 as a TE2.
