Tyler Ervin to get the bulk of work if Jones inactive

According to Peter Schrager on Twitter, Green Bay Packers RB/WR Tyler Ervin is expected to receive the bulk of the workload if Aaron Jones is inactive.

Fantasy Impact: 

Ervin may end up seeing the majority of the snaps even if Aaron Jones is active, as the latest report suggests that he may be limited even if he is cleared to play tonight. This is disappointing news for those who blew some of their FAAB budget acquiring Ervin, but it is tremendous news for the Packers. With Jones potentially active, Ervin has dropped to our 43rd ranked running back for Week 9. We will have a concrete update prior to game time.

Adding to the difficulty for the Packers: There is pessimism that RB Aaron Jones (calf) will be back for Thursday, I’m told. GB is cautious.

With Williams now out and on the COVID list, according to reports by Tom Pelissero, the current plan seems to be going with Ervin and Williams vs. the 49ers, Rapoport said. Ervin has 10 career carries and Williams has 5. Ervin mostly returned kicks for the Packers while Williams has been on the practice squad. Neither are really great plays against the 49ers, but there could at least be some volume between the two for those owners in need.

Packers LB Kamal Martin and RB Jamaal Williams are considered close contacts for RB A.J. Dillon, who tested positive for COVID-19, source said.

Fantasy Impact: 

Both did not practice today and the league is determining if they are high-risk close contacts. With Jones dealing with a calf injury it's possible the Packers are suddenly without their top-three backs against the 49ers on Thursday night. Ervin and Williams are next up but it's turning into a situation that will need to be monitored over the next few days to see what Williams' status will be for Thursday.

Packers RB Tyler Ervin (wrist, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 8. If he plays he could see a few extra touches with Aaron Jones out.
