OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New York Jets
In Week 11, Williams had four receptions on four targets, 82 yards, 62 air yards, zero touchdowns, 14% of the team targets, 33% of the team air yards, and finished as the half PPR WR26. Williams has only topped 90 yards twice this season but has scored a touchdown in five out of five games played.

The blueprint to beating the Jets is through the passing game. The Jets are second to last against wide receivers, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. With the assumption of rational coaching, Jon Gruden should get his receivers involved early and often. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Williams ranked as a mid-range half PPR WR2. He is always a threat to catch a deep ball for a touchdown.

OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
In Week 10, Williams had three receptions on five targets, 25 yards, 54 air yards, zero touchdowns, 16% of the team targets, 30% of the team air yards, and finished as the half PPR WR59. Williams has only topped 90 yards twice this season but has scored a touchdown in 5 of 7 games.

The Bengals are thirteenth worst against wide receivers, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. With the assumption of rational coaching, Jon Gruden should feature Josh Jacobs more than the wide receivers. The Raiders are favored by 11 points at home and are implied for a week high 29.75 points. Gameflow is very difficult to predict in the NFL but on paper, this matchup looks better for Jacobs than Williams. However, Williams has shown it only takes one big play to put up a good fantasy performance. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Williams ranked as a high-end half PPR WR3.

OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
In Week 8, Williams was shut down by shadow coverage specialist, Darius Slay. Williams had three receptions on four targets, 48 yards, 60 air yards, zero touchdowns, 13% of the team targets, 23% of the team air yards, and finished as the half PPR WR49.

The Chargers defense is better against wide receivers than running backs. They are eleventh best against wide receivers but seventh worst against running backs, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. With the assumption of rational coaching, Jon Gruden should feature Josh Jacobs more than Derek Carr and the wide receivers. However, the Raiders may be forced to pass more than they would like if they find themselves down by multiple touchdowns in the first half. This scenario seems unlikely, based on the Chargers being favored by one point, but game flow is very difficult to predict in the NFL. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Williams ranked as a low end range half PPR WR3.

OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Detroit Lions
Williams has played five games this season and scored a touchdown in every game. In Week 8, he had three receptions on six targets, 91 yards, lead the team with 137 air yards, one touchdown, 20% of the team targets, and 49% of the team air yards.

Detroit cornerback, Darius Slay, is expected to return from a hamstring injury and will most likely provide shadow coverage on Williams. This is a slight downgrade for Williams but he has shown the ability to make big plays regardless of the matchup. The Lions defense is eighth-worst against wide receivers, as shown by our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. This game has the second-highest over/under (50.5). 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Williams ranked as a mid-range WR2.

OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Houston Texans

Williams missed two weeks with a foot injury but is expected to play this week. Williams has a favorable matchup against the Texans. Their defense is fourth worst defense against wide receivers, as shown by our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Williams ranked as the Half PPR WR35.

OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Chicago Bears in London

Another week, another Tyrell Williams touchdown. He has scored a touchdown in every game this year. It’s a good thing he continues to score because his fantasy numbers would be atrocious without them. Through four weeks, he is the half PPR WR13 but 44% of his points have come from touchdowns. Negative regression could hit soon. In Week 4, he had three receptions on seven targets, 36 yards, one touchdown, 23% of the team targets, and 62% of the team air yards.

Williams has not practiced this week and is questionable to play in London against the Bears. Their secondary is tenth best against wide receivers, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. If Williams plays, he is a risky start. The Raiders are only implied for 17.75 points, so Williams’ touchdown streak is likely to come to an end. Monitor his status closely as we approach kickoff on Sunday.

OAK WR Tyrell Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Indianapolis Colts

Williams has scored a touchdown in all three games. It’s a good thing he has been scoring because it has saved fantasy owners from bust performances. In Week 3, he only had three receptions on three targets, 29 yards, one touchdown, 9% of the team targets, and 9% of the team air yards.

Williams is the best wide receiver but Carr’s favorite target is Darren Waller. Against the Vikings, Waller had 41% of the team targets and 41% of the air yards. Williams draws a tough matchup against the Colts who are third-best against wide receivers, as shown by our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4 rankings expert John Paulsen has Williams ranked as the half PPR WR34. The Raiders could find themselves down by more than a touchdown but Carr appears content with using Waller as his primary check down receiver.
