DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Wes Welker vs. St. Louis Rams
With Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders combining to haul in 16 passes and two TDs last week versus the Raiders, Wes Welker saw five looks from Peyton Manning, leading to four receptions for 24 yards. On the season, Wes has only 236 yards and one score. With Denver’s explosive passing attack, any offensive weapon could have a big day, but Welker just isn’t being utilized that often. The Rams are No. 13 against the pass, so No. 83 does not make for a good fantasy play despite Peyton Manning and the Broncos offense.

DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Wes Welker vs. Oakland Raiders
Even with Peyton Manning throwing the ball 57 times last week against the Patriots, Wes Welker finished with only three grabs for 31 yards on eight targets. Welker was shaken up on Manning’s second interception that bounced off of him and he didn’t return. He's been bothered by a sore back this week, but should be on the field in Oakland. With the concussions early on this season, Wes has been a different receiver than he’s been in the past, appearing to be much more cautious. His season numbers haven't been stellar, as he has just 22 receptions and one TD during the six games he’s played. Welker again should be used as no more than a No. 3 WR/flex versus a Raiders defense that's held its own against the pass.

DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Wes Welker vs. New England Patriots
As Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders combined for 17 receptions for 235 and three TDs last Thursday in the win over the Chargers, Wes Welker saw only two passes, resulting in just five yards. Welker was again Johnny-on-the-spot with a fumble recovery from Sanders in the fourth quarter, but was otherwise not a part of the game plan. As the No. 4 option in Denver’s passing attack, Wes has been pretty quiet for most of the season, with only 19 receptions and one TD. He’ll be facing his former team on Sunday afternoon, but again should be no higher than a WR 3/flex play as the Patriots have been one of the best at stopping the pass.

DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Wes Welker vs. San Diego Chargers
Peyton Manning’s record-tying 508th TD went to Wes Welker, who made a great dive for the pylon on a 39-yard first quarter touchdown. Wes finished with three catches for 50 yards and his first score of ’14. In the four games he’s played in this season, Welker is averaging four receptions for 44 yards, as Demaryius Thomas has really picked up his game the past three weeks. Against a pretty good Chargers D on Thursday, No. 83 makes for a WR3/flex play. He's still the forth option in the Broncos passing game.

DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Wes Welker vs. San Francisco 49ers
Peyton Manning threw for 237 yards and three TDs last week against the Jets, but over half of the yardage total went to Demaryius Thomas. On the afternoon, Wes Welker was targeted just once, resulting in an eight-yard reception. Welker recovered a fumbled snap as well, but obviously wasn’t a big part of the game plan. Wes has 14 grabs for 126 yards and no scores in the three games he’s played in this season. He makes for at best a WR3 play on Sunday night, even with Manning needing only two TD tosses to tie Brett Favre for most all time.

DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Wes Welker vs. New York Jets
Peyton Manning threw for a career-high 479 yards in the win over the Cards last Sunday, with Wes Welker finishing with seven grabs for 68 yards. During the game he surpassed former Bronco Rod Smith for the most career receptions by a non-drafted player. Welker has played in only two games this season, but has 13 catches and continues to be a key find for Manning out of the slot position. Denver has a ton of receiving weapons and Wes will continue to get his looks. New York has struggled at times to stop the pass this season, so expect another solid outing from No. 83 this week.

DEN WR Wes Welker - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Wes Welker vs. Arizona Cardinals
Playing in his first game of the season two weeks ago at Seattle, Wes Welker was a bit limited, but still finished with six catches for 60 yards. Peyton Manning threw the ball 49 times in that loss, with nine looks to Welker. After the bye week, Wes should be fully involved in the offense moving forward, making him a solid start the rest of the season, especially in PPR formats
