HOU WR Will Fuller - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. New York Giants

After missing Week 1 with a sore hamstring, Will Fuller made an immediate impact last Sunday against the Titans. Deshaun Watson came his way nine times, resulting in eight grabs, 113 yards and a TD. In the 25 games he’s played during his three-year career, Fuller has scored 10 times. At home this week against an average Giants defense, he makes for a WR2 play.

HOU WR Will Fuller - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Tennessee Titans

Still battling a sore hamstring, Will Fuller missed the opener at New England. Be sure to check the injury report this week, but if he’s healthy, Fuller could be used as a flex option against a Titans defense that surrendered 230 passing yards to Ryan Tannehill in Week 1.

HOU WR Will Fuller - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at New England Patriots

The touchdown-maker, Will Fuller, has been battling a hamstring injury but is expected to be available for the opener at New England. After missing six games last season, he is ready to improve on his 28-grab, seven-TD season of a year ago. With Deshaun Watson at QB, Fuller is a much bigger threat, especially with DeAndre Hopkins drawing double teams on the other side. He should be considered a flex play in Week 1.

HOU WR Will Fuller - 2018 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Fuller was a story of both high-end production and injuries last season. He had a broken collarbone and a knee injury during the season. He had arthroscopic surgery on the knee in January. But Fuller also caught seven touchdowns and completely clicked with Deshaun Watson before the quarterback got hurt. How productive was he? Fuller caught a touchdown for every 7.1 targets in 2017.

According to FantasyPros, that's the smallest number (with a minimum of 30 targets) since James Jones caught one every 7.0 targets in 2012. No surprise that teammate DeAndre Hopkins told reporters "the sky's the limit" for Fuller if the latter can stay healthy in 2018. "I think he's going to have the best season."

Fantasy Downside

The knock on Fuller coming out of college was questionable hands. For his part, Watson isn't worried. "[Fuller's] a playmaker," the QB said. "[He] finds ways to get open. He's a deep threat, he has a lot of speed and he's very, very smart, so he knows the feel of this offense and what we're looking for." Also, as CBSSports.com suggested, Fuller's skill set may always lend itself to large fantasy fluctuations on a week-to-week basis.

2018 Bottom Line

That said, there's no denying the connection between the QB and wideout and Fuller should have better luck avoiding the prolonged slumps if both he and Watson manage to stay healthy for the year. Given the upside we all saw with our own eyes last season, Fuller is a reasonable value at his current ranking.

HOU WR Will Fuller - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Indianapolis Colts

With Texans QBs combining to throw for only 93 yards in the loss to Pittsburgh last Monday, Will Fuller was targeted 5 times, but posted just a 10-yard grab. He was thrown to 8 times in the first meeting versus the Colts this season, but finished with just 2 receptions for 32 yards. Look elsewhere for a starting fantasy WR, even with Fuller expected to see more targets due to DeAndre Hopkins being out.

HOU WR Will Fuller - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

As T.J. Yates struggled against the Jaguars defense last week, Will Fuller was targeted 5 times, leading to 5 grabs for 44 yards. Fuller hasn’t been in the end zone since Deshaun Watson was the team’s QB back at the end of October. Pittsburgh allows just over 200 passing yards per game, so Fuller should only be started if you’re out of other options.

HOU WR Will Fuller - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Jacksonville Jaguars

After missing the previous three games with sore ribs, Will Fuller was back in action last Sunday versus San Francisco. In the loss, he finished with 3 receptions for 26 yards and just hasn’t been the same weapon since Deshaun Watson was lost for the season. Jacksonville has the best pass defense and T.J. Yates will be the Houston QB, so there is little reason for Fuller to be part of your fantasy playoff starting lineup.
