Scouting report

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Carolina Panthers

Here are Alshon Jeffery's targets each game since returning from injury: nine, eight, 12. Meanwhile, Zach Ertz has maintained his huge role in the offense with targets of 14, 11 and nine. These two run the Carson Wentz show in Philadelphia, making Ertz an elite tight end option in fantasy each and every week.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Giants (Thursday)

Zach Ertz has been everything fantasy owners had hoped and more. If he were a WR, he'd be ranked as a high-end WR2 each week. He has posted double-digit targets every week this season, three 100-yard games and at least five receptions in each. With an offense this good, we expect positive touchdown regression too. He's only scored once, but TDs should be coming. He's locked in as an elite fantasy option each week.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Minnesota Vikings

The Eagles have an average implied team total this week, and Alshon Jeffery is likely to see CB Xavier Rhodes in coverage. Plus, with the Vikings using a lot of zone blitz, that should open the middle of the field for Ertz. This man has been a fantasy owner's dream this season. Even with Alshon Jeffery back last week, Ertz still saw 14 targets for 112 yards on ten receptions. Amazing stuff at a brutally depleted position. He's a weekly free space in starting lineups.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Tennessee Titans

Carson Wentz's return meant a concerning drop in targets for Nelson Agholor but more high-volume production from Zach Ertz. He is their de facto No. 1 WR. The Titans rank fifth in aFPA to TEs, but no matter. Ertz's target share makes him an automatic start every week in fantasy lineups at a thin fantasy position.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Philadelphia has an attractive 27-point implied team total this week. The Colts have allowed 12 receptions to tight ends this season. With Alshon Jeffery still on the shelf and now Mike Wallace on IR, Ertz should get a ton of targets. He's an elite TE option for Week 3.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay may have been 10th last year in aFPA to TEs, but that's something you ignore when you have an elite-tier TE like Zach Ertz. His touchdown upside is lower with backup QB Nick Foles starting, but you can't argue with his usage—10 targets in Week 1. Let's just hope he's more efficient this time around in your lineup.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Atlanta Falcons (Thursday)
No Alshon Jeffery for Week 1 Thursday night means Zach Ertz should see an increase in targets and red zone looks as the primary fantasy option in the Eagles pass attack. Ertz is projected to be one of three elite tight ends this season by our projections, and it is no different for Week 1. Against the Falcons (14th vs. TE in aFPA last year), only Rob Gronkowski is projected to have a bigger week at the position.
