BAL WR Zay Flowers - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Tennessee Titans (London)

Zay Flowers caught five balls for 73 yards last week against the Steelers. Flowers hasn’t had a huge game and hasn’t found the end zone yet, but he has several indicators that should lead to fantasy production as the season continues. First, he has three games with double-digit targets already. Second, he leads Baltimore wide receivers in snaps, and it’s not even close. Even last week, when everyone was healthy, Flowers was on the field for 99% of the team’s offensive snaps, compared to just 59% for Nelson Agholor - the second-place receiver. Finally, Flowers is leading the team with eight targets per game - more than even Mark Andrews. Fantasy production should come.

This week, Flowers has a nice matchup against a Titans defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Expect another busy day with a full slate of targets for the rookie, and fantasy managers can safely continue trotting him out as a fringe-WR2 or solid flex option in all leagues.

BAL WR Zay Flowers - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Zay Flowers is clearly the lead receiver in Baltimore with a snap count exceeding 90% in each of the past two games. Flowers has 29 targets in four games and while he hasn’t had an explosive fantasy outing yet, the looks he’s getting should turn into fantasy points sooner or later. He finishes last week’s lopsided victory over the Browns with three catches and 56 yards.

This week, Flowers has a great matchup against a Pittsburgh defense that ranks 31st in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Expect another heavy dose of targets for the talented rookie and a quality WR2 fantasy day. Start him.

BAL WR Zay Flowers - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Cleveland Browns

Zay Flowers only had 50 yards from scrimmage last week against the Colts, but he was targeted 10 times and had eight receptions to go with one rushing attempt. Flowers has logged at least one rush attempt in each game this year and he’s been targeted 25 times. He’s clearly the primary wide receiver in this offense.

This week, Flowers has a tough matchup against the Browns. Cleveland ranks number one in the league in aFPA to opposing wide receivers and they have a relentless pass rush that won’t allow routes to take too long to open up. In that regard, Flowers should benefit, as the Ravens use quick action to create opportunities for Flowers to catch the ball in space. Still, WR3/Flex area is the best you can hope for in what should be a low-scoring affair.

BAL WR Zay Flowers - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Zay Flowers caught four of the five balls through his way last week against the Bengals and ended up with 62 yards. He also had a six-yard carry, his third rushing attempt in two games. Flowers won’t likely see many games with the 10 targets he saw in Week 1 now that Mark Andrews is back on the active gameday roster, but he clearly has a role in this offense. The Ravens seem to like what he brings to the team and are manufacturing touches for the rookie.

This week, Flowers should find some space against a Colts secondary that gave up receiving touchdowns to Nico Collins and Tank Dell a week ago and was torched by Calvin Ridley in Week 1. We have Flowers ranked as a fringe-WR2 option and he has upside as a WR3 or flex option in all leagues.

BAL WR Zay Flowers - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Cincinnati Bengals

Zay Flowers was the best part of the Ravens’ offense last week, finishing with two rushes, nine catches on 10 targets, and a total of 87 yards from scrimmage. He led the team in targets by a wide margin, with no one else receiving more than three. Maybe Flowers is the lead wide receiver the team has been looking for for years?

The Bengals held the Browns to just 154 yards through the air last week, though a lot of that may have been game script. They lead for much of the final three quarters and ended the game with 40 rushing attempts. Cincinnati was 17th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers last year, so there’s potential for Flowers to show up again. We have him ranked just outside WR2 territory, but following so many targets, he’s definitely worth starting in 3WR leagues.

BAL WR Zay Flowers - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Houston Texans

Zay Flowers had 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns on 78 receptions during his senior year at Boston College before being selected with Baltimore’s first-round pick. Flowers has lit up camp and showed flashes in the preseason. Now, he’s listed third on the depth chart to start the season and is expected to get plenty of action in the slot behind oft-injured receivers Rashod Bateman and Odell Beckham Jr. If he gets snaps and targets, he has a pretty good matchup against the Texans, who ranked 17th in aFPA to the position a year ago. However, until we know which of the three starting receivers will get the bulk of Lamar Jackson’s attention, we advise a wait-and-see approach to all of them. Flowers definitely has value as a stash, however, and might have the most upside of the bunch.
