DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Green Bay Packers

Against Minnesota last Sunday LeGarrette Blount led the Lions with 11 carries but for only 29 yards. He came in to the contest with a sore calf and didn’t do much to help an offense that generated just 223 yards in the loss. In the past three contests, Blount has run for a total of 71 yards and hasn’t found the end zone in four straight. In the first meeting with Green Bay this season Blount received 12 carries for only 22 yards but scored twice. There are likely better options for you to start this week.

DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Minnesota Vikings

In the one-point loss to the Bills last week LeGarrette Blount rushed seven times for just nine yards. Over the past two contests, he’s been sharing carries with Theo Riddick and Zach Zenner, but no one in the trio has been too impressive. Earlier this season at Minnesota Blount was stuffed for just eight yards on five carries and should remain on your bench for Sunday’s affair.

DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Buffalo Bills

Sharing the backfield with Zach Zenner last week at Arizona, LeGarrette Blount rushed 12 times for 33 yards and caught two passes for an additional 18 yards. Zenner ended up receiving the same amount of carries and finished with more yards and scored the team’s lone offensive TD in the win. Even if Kerryon Johnson is out again at Buffalo, Blount doesn’t make for a good fantasy start against the league’s No. 10 rush defense.

DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Arizona Cardinals

Once again with Kerryon Johnson out last Sunday versus the Rams, LeGarrette Blount led Detroit’s ground game with 16 carries for 61 yards. After not showing much the previous couple months, Blount has done a nice job in Johnson’s absence the past two weeks. If the rookie is out again, Blount could make for a sneaky start versus a poor Cardinals run defense.

DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Getting the start in place of injured Kerryon Johnson, LeGarrette Blount had a turn-back-the-clock performance on Thanksgiving Day versus a good Chicago defense. He busted out for 88 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards and two TDs, the first time he’d been in the end zone since Week 7. Blount averaged a healthy 4.6 yards per carry that included a scamper of 27 yards. If Johnson is still sidelined Sunday, Blount is a viable flex option against the Rams.

DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

Even with Kerryon Johnson leaving last Sunday’s game with a knee injury, LeGarrette Blount still only rushed for a whopping one yard on seven attempts. At Chicago a couple weeks ago, he was held to four yards on six carries. Even though Johnson's unable to play on Thursday, there has to be better options for you to start over Blount.

DET RB LeGarrette Blount - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Carolina Panthers

Detroit was behind the entire game last week at Chicago, which limited the ground attack. While LeGarrette Blount received two attempts near the goal line, he was unable to punch it in, which Kerryon Johnson was able to do on third down. Blount finished with six carries for four yards and has rushed for a total of just 15 yards the past three weeks. Johnson is the team’s clear No. 1 RB and, now that Theo Riddick is healthy, Blount should not be taking up a roster spot.
