HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 18 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wild Card vs. Indianapolis Colts

Now that Lamar Miller has recovered from his ankle injury, Alfred Blue will remain the backup for Saturday’s playoff matchup. In the two contests against the Colts this year Blue was held to 52 yards on 19 carries. Indy’s run defense was solid in both meetings and should again have success limiting the Texans run attack on Saturday. Blue doesn’t make for a good fantasy option.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

With Lamar Miller missing last week’s game against the Eagles, Alfred Blue and D’Onta Foreman split the playing time. Blue finished with 14 yards on the ground and 26 receiving yards on four catches. In the October meeting with the Jaguars Blue received eight carries for 28 yards and doesn’t make for a good fantasy option in the rematch, regardless of Miller’s status.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Philadelphia Eagles

With Lamar Miller battling an ankle injury last Saturday at the Jets, Alfred Blue received nine rushing attempts but gained only six yards versus an average run defense. Miller is expected back on Sunday, so Blue will likely return to the backup role. He should not be a part of your starting lineup.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New York Jets

Even though it was Lamar Miller who received 19 total touches compared to Alfred Blue’s six last Sunday versus Indy, it was Blue who plowed in Houston’s initial TD. While the six carries were the fewest Blue has seen since Week 3, he was able to find the end zone for the second time this season. Miller will remain the lead back and receive the majority of the playing time, so there’s no reason for Blue to be in your starting lineup.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Indianapolis Colts

With Lamar Miller over 100 yards on the ground for the second straight game last week versus the Browns, Alfred Blue finished with 13 carries for a season-high 54 yards. Over the past five contests, Blue is averaging 13 rushes for 46 yards but still hasn’t scored since the opener. He carried the ball 13 times for 31 yards in the OT win at Indianapolis in Week 4 but just isn’t producing enough to warrant a fantasy start on Sunday.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns

Splitting carries with Lamar Miller in the win over the Titans last Monday, Alfred Blue finished with a team-high 13 carries for 49 yards. The two RBs had comparable numbers, outside, of course, of Miller’s 97-yard TD run. Blue hasn’t been in the end zone since Week 1, so even against a poor Cleveland defense, he should remain on your bench.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Tennessee Titans

Lamar Miller led Houston with 20 carries for 86 yards last Sunday at Washington, with Alfred Blue receiving only eight rushes for 46 yards. While the 46 yards tied his season high, which came in Week 5 when he started for the injured Miller, Blue has scored just once this year. Earlier this season at Tennessee, he rushed seven times for 36 yards, but should not be a part of your starting lineup in the rematch.
