Scouting report

BAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Dez Bryant was targeted twice last week but failed to catch a pass in a strange game where much of the Ravens’ offense was inactive due to COVID. He had four catches for 28 yards the previous week, and while it’s good to see him active on an NFL roster after being out of football for a couple of years, he should be considered a long shot to put up legit fantasy points. Leave him on waivers in most leagues, despite a fantastic matchup against the Cowboys this week.

BAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Pittsburgh Steelers

It was heartwarming to see Dez Bryant return to the field last week against the Titans, but don’t get too excited about four catches on five targets for 28 yards just yet. It’s good to see him active in the passing game and if he’s anything close to what he used to be, he can be a welcome addition to the Baltimore offense. However, the team simply doesn’t use the wide receivers consistently enough to warrant serious fantasy consideration. He’s worth a speculative addition to deep, deep rosters, but in most leagues, he should stay on waivers.

NO WR Dez Bryant - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Cincinnati Bengals

The Saints signed Dez Bryant to a one-year contract earlier this week and the veteran will serve as depth for a team that is banged-up at the receiver position. With Ted Ginn Jr. and Cameron Meredith on injured reserve, Bryant will serve as the team’s No. 3 receiver behind Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith. It could take a few weeks for Bryant to get up to speed in Sean Payton’s offense but he has WR3 appeal down the road – just not this week. Stash him but don’t play him when the Saints visit the Bengals on Sunday.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Philadelphia Eagles

Dez Bryant caught 3 passes for 43 yards last week and his 2017 season has to be considered a disappointment because of the high expectations. He did not have a 100-yard receiving game this season and scored only 6 touchdowns.

Bryant will face the Eagles this week, who are ranked 13th in aFPA to wide receivers. We don't expect anything different from the rest of the season for Week 17. Bryant only rates as a high-end WR3 or FLEX play against Philly.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Dez Bryant hasn't had more than 5 receptions in a game since Week 11 and even his targets have been low in recent weeks. There is a good chance with RB Ezekiel Elliott returning that those numbers might not get any better.

It's actually a very favorable matchup for Bryant as he will face a Seahawks defense ranked 25th in aFPA to wide receivers. Despite that advantage, Bryant's ranking remains lower than many might have predicted at the beginning of the year. Start Bryant but only as a WR2 for Week 16.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Oakland Raiders

Dez Bryant is not putting up any crazy numbers, but they have been better in recent weeks. First, he has touchdowns in back-to-back games for the first time since the first half of the season. His yardage totals are also up over the past two games. The targets are still not where we want to see them, but that's the only negating factor.

Bryant will face the Raiders this week, who are ranked 26th in aFPA to wide receivers. This is a great matchup for the Cowboys wide receiver. Couple that with the recent success and Bryant has worked his way back into the WR1 conversation for Week 15. Start him in all leagues.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New York Giants

Dez Bryant scored his first touchdown since Week 7 and his targets and receptions remain consistent, even with the Cowboys passing game struggling at times. Bryant remains the No. 1 receiver in the offense, but this is not the high-flying offense that saw Bryant put up league-leading numbers in that we've been accustomed to in recent years.

Bryant faces a Giants defense ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers, so the matchup is very good. Start him in all leagues as a high-end WR2 for Week 14.
