IND WR Deon Cain - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Miami Dolphins

Deon Cain saw 30% of the team’s offensive snaps against the Steelers last week, but he stands to get more playing time this week after rookie Parris Campbell went down with a hand injury. Cain has yet to deliver any kind of statistical production, but he’s been on the field enough to warrant a cautious eye in his direction. He’s too risky in most leagues, but has some interesting potential as the possible WR3 this week against the Dolphins in extremely deep leagues as a desperation option.

Week 7 vs. Houston Texans

Deon Cain is getting plenty of snaps – over 50% in each of his past three games – but he’s caught only four passes all year. Until he starts to produce he’s not worth rostering in the vast majority of fantasy leagues, even with a potentially good matchup against the Texans this week. Leave him on waivers.

Week 5 at Kansas City Chiefs

Deon Cain had five targets last week against the Raiders and led the team in snaps at 73% with T.Y. Hilton out with an injury. Unfortunately, that equated to exactly zero receptions. Cain has potential and opportunity, but he’s yet to deliver any actual production. Until that changes, it’s hard to trust him, even against a Chiefs team with a potent offense that should keep the Colts throwing the ball. The Colts quarterback situation looks good this week, but it’s anyone’s guess which receiver(s) benefits. Stay away if you can.

IND WR Deon Cain - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Oakland Raiders

Deon Cain saw 56% of snaps last week with Hilton hobbled, but he was only targeted three times, catching one ball for 10 yards. He has some upside as a starter against the Raiders, but he only has six targets through three games so far, despite injuries to the top two receivers in Indianapolis. Cain is worth adding to deep rosters in speculation, and there’s some upside this week due to the matchup, but ultimately, he’s too risky to consider in most leagues until he shows he can produce.

Week 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Deon Cain was targeted only once last week, but he was on the field for 46% of the Colts’ offensive snaps with Devin Funchess injured. Cain is way too risky to trust in lineups and still belongs on waivers, but keep an eye on that snap count. If he stays on the field more frequently and it turns into targets, he could be worth adding in deeper leagues.

Week 2 at Tennessee Titans

Deon Cain had two catches for 35 yards last week against the Chargers and he could be in for a significant increase in snaps following the injury to Devin Funchess. While there’s optimism around him right now and he’s worth adding to the back end of a fantasy roster in deep leagues with large benches, he’s far too risky to insert into lineups this week. The Titans allowed the seventh-fewest passing yards per game last season and they bottled up the Browns effectively in Week 1. Keep Cain on the bench.
