Scouting report

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 21, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Super Bowl vs. Carolina
While he caught just two passes in the AFC Championship game, Owen Daniels came up big, with 12-yard and 21-yard TD receptions in the victory. Peyton Manning only threw to Owen three times against the Patriots, but was able to connect with his TE on the two scores. In both playoff contests, Daniels has registered two grabs on three targets. He is a shaky start however, with Greg Olsen of Carolina the other main TE option.

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 20, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

AFC Championship vs. New England
With Peyton Manning back at QB for the Broncos last Sunday against the Steelers, Owen Daniels was targeted three times, resulting in two catches for 10 yards. In the win over New England in Week 12, with Brock Osweiler at QB, Owen caught five passes for 48 yards, but there are better TE options for you to start on your fantasy roster this week.

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 19, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 19 vs Pittsburgh
Against the Chargers two weeks ago, Owen Daniels had just a 15-yard reception. He caught 46 passes for 517 yards and three TDs during the regular season, but his last score came in early November. He was targeted five times versus the Steelers in December, leading to two grabs for 14 yards. While all three of Daniels’ scores came with Peyton Manning at the helm, there has to be a better option for your playoff fantasy TE.

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. San Diego
Owen Daniels was quiet for most of the win against the Bengals last Monday, but woke up late in the contest, finishing with a five receptions for a team-high 70 yards. He took a big hit in overtime, but should be on the field in the regular season finale. Vernon Davis, who came into the contest with a couple crucial drops in recent weeks, was not targeted versus Cincinnati. In early December at San Diego, Daniels caught two passes for 13 yards, but is a very risky play on Sunday.

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Cincinnati
Even though Brock Osweiler threw the ball 44 times last Sunday in Pittsburgh, Owen Daniels caught only two passes for 14 yards. Since Vernon Davis joined the Broncos and gained an understanding of the offense, Owen hasn’t scored and has been over 50 yards only once. There has to be a better TE available for you this week.

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Brock Osweiler threw 51 passes last Sunday against the Raiders, with four of them going in the direction of Owen Daniels. He finished with three grabs for 43 yards, but Owen has only five receptions the past two games. Vernon Davis caught seven passes versus Oakland and is receiving more looks from Osweiler recently. Daniels should only be started if you’re limited on TE options.

DEN TE Owen Daniels - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Oakland
It looks like Vernon Davis might miss this week’s game with a concussion. Therefore, look for Owen Daniels to receive more looks at the TE position. Last Sunday in San Diego, Owen caught only two passes for 13 yards. He hasn’t scored in the past four contests and on five targets from Peyton Manning, Daniels was held without a reception at Oakland in October. Even with the increase in targets and what’s been a poor Oakland pass D, he’s a shaky fantasy start.
