WR Corey Davis informs Jets he is stepping away from football

Corey Davis announced his intentions on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.

"For some time now I've been contemplating stepping away from the sport of football," Davis wrote. "This decision has not been easy. Although I am a deep person, I am a man of few words. I've been searching my heart for what to do and I feel that stepping away from the game is the best path for me at this time. I have more blessings than I could have ever imagined -- I have an amazing family, a beautiful wife and two healthy children that I look forward to spending more time with. I am truly grateful for all the opportunities I have had and will continue to have on my journey. Thank you to my family and friends and the Jets organization for supporting me through this process."

Though Davis wasn't necessarily in the fantasy spotlight leading up to the retirement, he had two different impactful seasons (2018 and 2020) in which he accounted for 65 receptions with the Tennessee Titans.

NYJ WR Corey Davis - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Buffalo Bills
In his second game back from injury, Corey Davis made a mark with 10 targets that produced five receptions for 85 yards. He is definitely getting back in the Jets game plan and is a solid second receiver for them.

Davis will face the Bills for the first time this season. Buffalo is ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. With the favorable matchup, Davis is a fringe receiver for Week 14 if you need help because of the byes. We will see if QB Mike White continues to keep the Jets passing game positive.
