MIN QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Dobbs is at QB14 in our rankings heading into this matchup with the Raiders. Their last matchup with Chicago was a grotesque affair. Dobbs failed to crack 200 passing yards and threw for one touchdown and four interceptions.

He's a high-end QB2 at this point and reinforcements are coming with Justin Jefferson's return. Hopefully a stable, true WR1 will give him a boost down the stretch if you're relying on him.

MIN QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

Josh Dobbs comes in just outside of the Top 12 conversation at QB14. The Bears have been solid against QBs all season. They've only allowed one QB to break 20 fantasy points in the last seven weeks.

Dobbs has been a social media sensation and has backed it up, largely, with his play. He's consistently been over 60% completion rate and is on a touchdown streak for four weeks now. Dobbs is a solid streamer and is a must-start in superflex.

MIN QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Denver Broncos

Joshua Dobbs leads the suddenly hot Vikings into Denver for Sunday Night Football in Week 11. The Passtronaut has been all over social media thanks to this incredible narrative around him and his exceptional play given the circumstances.

Denver has proven not to be an easy matchup against QBs lately. They've held Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes (twice) under 20 fantasy points, which is no small feat. We have Dobbs at QB15. He's a fine streaming option but you likely have better choices on your roster already.

MIN QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New Orleans Saints

Joshua Dobbs is making his first start for the Vikings this weekend but he's already left an impression. He came in after Jaren Hall got hurt in Week 9 and led Minnesota to victory. Dobbs was able to complete 66% of his passes, threw for two touchdowns, and added 66 yards and a score on the ground. This was all, basically, without knowing the playbook.

He does face off against a tough Saints defense that, on paper, has been stingy against opposing QBs this year. If we dig in a bit, though, the story on them gets a bit muddied. They've only allowed two QBs to break 20 fantasy points, but they haven't exactly faced a Murderers' Row of signal callers lately. If you're affected by a bye, he might be your best option but he's just a mid-range QB2 this week.

ARI QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Seattle Seahawks

Joshua Dobbs had 235 yards and a pick last week in a lopsided loss to the Rams. He added 47 yards on seven rushing attempts, which is nice for fantasy managers. Dobbs has rushed for over 40 yards in four of six games this season.

This week, Dobbs has a nice matchup against a Seattle defense that ranks 26th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Dobbs is doing just enough each week and offering just enough rushing upside to warrant streaming consideration. That’s where he lands again this week, in the fringe-QB1, solid-streaming territory and he’s worth considering if you’re having bye week or injury issues at quarterback.

ARI QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Los Angeles Rams

Josh Dobbs really struggled last week against the Bengals. While he did find a way to throw a pair of touchdown passes in the lopsided loss, he completed just 46.9% of his 32 pass attempts for 166 yards and a pair of interceptions. He also lost a fumble and was held to a single yard on three rushing attempts. Dobbs will have better outings than that, but it was discouraging to see after a string of solid performances in Weeks 2-4.

This week, Dobbs faces a Rams defense that ranks 18th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect a performance somewhere between his dismal game against the Bengals and his normal output this season. He remains a fringe option as a streamer, and a low-end QB2 in most leagues.

ARI QB Joshua Dobbs - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Josh Dobbs has been better than expected starting in place of the injured Kyler Murray this season. While the Cardinals are 1-3, they’ve been in two of those losses and Dobbs has five touchdowns - four passing and one rushing - with no interceptions as the starter. He’s coming off a productive fantasy outing against a tough San Francisco defense, with 265 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air, adding 48 yards on 12 rushing attempts. Dobbs has at least three rushing attempts in each game.

This week, Dobbs has a nice matchup against the Bengals, who rank 24th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Dobbs is a sneaky streaming option in deeper leagues in a nice matchup with some surprisingly good weapons around him, including Marquise Brown and rookie Michael Wilson. We have Dobbs ranked in QB2 territory, but he’s worth keeping an eye on and rostering in SuperFlex and 2QB formats.
