IND WR Josh Downs - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New York Giants

It's been an up-and-down season for Josh Downs but he has a chance to finish the fantasy season on a high note against a Giants team that has all but packed it in for the 2024 season and is eyeing the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft. It's also started to look like Joe Flacco is going to get the start in a must-win game for the Colts with Anthony Richardson dealing with back and foot injuries. Downs is a low-end WR3 this week with some upside.

IND WR Josh Downs - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Tennessee Titans

Josh Downs returned from injury last week and saw eight targets against the Broncos. However, he was held to just three catches for 32 yards. Things don't get much easier for Downs as he'll now face the league's 3rd-ranked passing defense. That said, in Downs' first meeting with the Titans this season, he caught seven passes for 66 yards and a touchdown...with Joe Flacco at quarterback when he was on a hot streak. The offense has been limited with Anthony Richardson at quarterback, which limits the upside of Downs to that of a low-end flex for Week 16 in what is now a must-win for the Colts.

IND WR Josh Downs - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Denver Broncos

Josh Downs had the bye week to recover from his shoulder injury and is trending towards playing against the Broncos. Unfortunately, the Colts' passing offense as a whole has been limited due to Anthony Richardson's play. That limits what Downs can do from a fantasy perspective. Not to mention, Downs will see a good amount of Patrick Surtain this week. Add it all up and you've got a playoff gamble and a deeper flex play for Downs in Week 15.

IND WR Josh Downs - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Detroit Lions

Josh Downs is on a nice stretch of late. His receiving totals in the last four weeks: 109, 60, 72, 84. He has scored in two of his last four games. He has effectively become the WR1 for Anthony Richardson. He gets the Lions this week who actually rank in the bottom half (18th) in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing wide receivers. But given the volume Downs has been getting, he's worthy of WR2 consideration this week.

IND WR Josh Downs - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at New York Jets

Josh Downs has been on a nice streak of late, posting receiving totals of 109, 60 and 72 while totaling 17 catches in that time. Of course, the last two weeks have been with Joe Flacco. The passing game has been inconsistent with Anthony Richardson, whom the Colts are going back to this week. While the secondary hasn't been elite, it's still been very strong. The Jets are currently No. 2 in passing yards per game allowed (168.3). Downs' ceiling is capped this week but he is still the best option in the passing game from the Colts for fantasy owners.

IND WR Josh Downs - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Indianapolis Colts

In his first game back with Joe Flacco, Josh Downs caught six passes for 60 yards. on nine targets, leading the way for the Colts. It's pretty clear now that Downs is the favorite target for Flacco. Most of Downs' production this season came with Flacco at quarterback. That connection helps add fantasy value for Downs, but a tough matchup against the Bills could cap his ceiling a bit this week. Downs remains a strong Flex option.

IND WR Josh Downs - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Minnesota Vikings

No player may be more excited for Joe Flacco than Josh Downs. The two had a strong connection during Flacco's first run as the Colts starter. Downs is coming off a 100-yard performance against the Vikings last week so he's bringing some momentum to the table. We have Downs as a top-15 wide receiver this week against a Vikings defense that, while tough, can be favorable against opposing wide receivers (3rd-easiest matchup in our rankings).
