Fantasy Upside
Kris Durham is coming off of a pretty good (for him) ’13, in which he finished with 38 receptions for 490 yards and a couple of TDs. His best game came in Week 6 at Cleveland, where he hauled in eight passes for 83 yards. At 6’6”, he is a nice target for Matthew Stafford to throw to, especially near the goal line.
Fantasy Downside
Even though Stafford has been known to throw a lot of passes, Durham is still, at best, the No. 3 WR heading in to season, with durable players in Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate filling the top spots. Unfortunately for Kris, Meagatron also is a big WR and is usually the Detroit’s WR of choice near the end zone.
Bottom Line
Durham is a consistent player for Detroit, but isn’t worth taking up a roster spot unless one of the starters is going to be out. Sure, the Lions have thrown the ball a ton in recent seasons, but they should be a bit more balanced in ’14.
