The Chiefs have waived their former first-round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Related players: Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt, Samaje Perine, Carson Steele

Fantasy Impact:

CEH missed some time this season for mental health reasons, an issue that goes back several years, but the Chiefs are pretty comfortable with their backfield after signing Hunt and recently getting Pacheco back from his leg injury. The team also has Perine and Steele. CEH often played key roles for the Chiefs in their playoff runs, so he may get another chance with another team, but likely isn't going to be fantasy-worthy in typical redraft leagues this season.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Jerick McKinnon was already ruled out last week and then Isiah Pacheco entered the concussion protocol, leaving Clyde Edwards-Helaire as the lone back for Kansas City. CEH didn't take over until late in the game, finishing with six yards on four carries and 42 yards on three receptions. If McKinnon and Pacheco are out again this week, then CEH suddenly becomes an RB1 in Week 17. He gets a decent matchup vs. the Bengals (14th aFPA) and he'll likely see close to 20 touches. However, the injuries will be worth monitoring throughout the week. If Pacheco is healthy enough to play, then CEH becomes more of a low-end flex.
