Scouting report

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Chiefs

Gurley just doesn't have it right now and he's not getting the touches to be any bit effective. In fact, Gurley had just three touches in Week 15 in just 16 snaps. That likely won't change much with the Falcons coming out and saying Ito Smith is now the lead back. A season that started off so strong has come crashing down to Earth for Gurley. Stay far away from the entire Falcons' backfield.

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Buccaneers

Todd Gurley was limited again in Week 14, only seeing eight touches against the Chargers for 31 total yards. Gurley hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 9. It's become a straight running back by committee in Atlanta along with Ito Smith and it doesn't help that Tampa Bay is still one of the top defenses against the run.

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs Chargers

Atlanta went with a straight running back by committee in Week 13 and Gurley has been limited in practice, so that trend could continue in Week 14. We have Gurley as a low flex option heading into the playoffs. The Chargers are a bottom-ten defense against the run, but the three-man RBBC is a bit too much of a headache at this stage of the game.

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Raiders

For only the third time in 2020, Todd Gurley failed to score. There's a good chance he gets back to his scoring ways Sunday against one of our bottom five defenses against opposing running backs. However, Gurley did miss practice Wednesday with a knee injury, so keep an eye on him Friday. If he plays, it's a very favorable matchup and he's just outside the RB1 range for this week.

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Saints

If only Gurley was used more in the passing game. But he hasn't seen fewer than 14 carries in a game all season long. And he only has two games where he didn't score a touchdown. He's a quality RB2. Just don't expect much through the air.

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Broncos

Surprisingly, it was a quiet day for Gurley as Brian Hill saw more work in Week 8. Gurley only played half the snaps but still found the end zone for the eighth time this season. Denver isn't a bad matchup, but there are certainly better ones. However, in Gurley's past meeting with Denver in 2018 as a Ram, he broke the 200-yard barrier with 208 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

ATL RB Todd Gurley - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Panthers

Take away Gurley's game against the Panthers in Week 5, he is only averaging about 60 rushing yards per game. But he makes up for it with touchdowns in five of his seven games thus far and already has seven rushing touchdowns. And it just so happens that Gurley gets those Panthers that he posted 121 yards and a score in Week 5. Being on a short week, Gurley will continue to see plenty of work and may be more of a focal point of the offense. He has two straight games of at least 20 carries and 23 total touches.
