Scouting report

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Seattle Seahawks

T.J. Hockenson played 50/77 snaps last week as he continues to get back into full-game shape. His production last week was very respectable, with five catches for 52 yards on seven targets. Expect the Vikings to keep his snap count around 65% for the rest of the regular season. Even at that, he's still seeing a healthy amount of targets each week. Seattle ranks 17th in fantasy points allowed to tight ends, so there's upside here this week that Hockenson may catch his first touchdown of the season. He's a solid TE1 this week in a favorable matchup.

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Chicago Bears

T.J. Hockenson is back as one of the better fantasy tight end options going into the fantasy playoffs. He has seen at least five targets in three straight games and four of his last five. And that's with him still not playing a full allotment of snaps. More good news, his best game of the season thus far came against the Bears in Week 12, where he caught seven passes for 114 yards. Chicago ranks 18th in fantasy points allowed to tight ends. Hock should be good for a few catches and potentially his first touchdown of the season.

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Atlanta Falcons

T.J. Hockenson has two straight games with at least 60% of the snaps played. Minnesota is trusting him and his health again. He saw a healthy six targets last week against the Cardinals but only came away with two catches. Johnny Mundt, Minnesota's TE2, came away with a score in the win. Hock remains talented enough to be a top-10 option.

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Welcome back, T.J. Hockenson. His 114 yards in his 4th game back from injury were more than his previous three games combined (112). He also played almost 70% of the offensive snaps, his highest of the season. He's starting to put his ACL injury behind him. He does face a good defense against tight ends in Arizona, who are allowing 8.5 points per game in half-PPR to tight ends, 8th in the NFL. Hock has worked himself into the top tiers of fantasy tight ends again,

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Chicago Bears

T.J. Hockenson saw just three targets and caught just two passes for 13 yards. He had 72 yards on eight catches in Week 10 but combined for 40 yards on five catches in his other two games. In his defense, he's also still getting back to a full workload since returning from an ACL tear. Chicago ranks 13th in fantasy points allowed to tight ends. Hock remains a TE2 option this week.

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Tennessee Titans

After being eased into action in Week 9, T.J. Hockenson got closer to the top fantasy tight end we know in Week 10 thanks to eight catches (nine targets) for 72 yards. He played 39 snaps after seeing 33 snaps in Week 9. This week, he gets the Titans, who rank No. 1 against the pass but are 12th in fantasy points allowed per game to tight ends. Hock remains a low-end TE1 with upside as he gets back to 100%.

MIN TE T.J. Hockenson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Jacksonville Jaguars

T.J. Hockenson made his season debut last week against the Colts and saw four targets, catching three of them for 27 yards while playing about 45 percent of the offensive snaps. It was expected he would be limited in his first action since his torn ACL and MCL. His playtime should increase over time, perhaps starting this week against the Jaguars, who rank as the 4th-easiest matchup for us this week. Hockenson is getting back to TE1 status as his workload increases.
