According to Connor Hughes on Twitter, New York Jets rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore is being evaluated for a quad injury and will undergo an MRI.

Fantasy Impact: 

Elijah Moore had been making waves in camp, so hopefully, for everyone involved, the injury does not force him to miss any significant time. He is indeed at risk of missing the Jets' first preseason game this Saturday, but as long as he can return by the final preseason contest, he should still open the season as a three-wide starter. The Jets starters are not expected to play more than a series or two this weekend, so Moore will not be missing many live game reps if he can make it back for next week. Following his ascension to the first-team offense, Moore became a trendy sleeper and should prove to be an ADP bargain. Stay tuned for further updates.

According to Connor Hughes on Twitter, New York Jets wide receiver Jamison Crowder is set to miss Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact: 

Missing practice on a Thursday is an ominous sign for Crowder's potential availability this weekend. Already down Le'Veon Bell, it could spell bad news for the Jets offense if Crowder is forced to miss any game action. Tight end Chris Herndon and receivers Breshad Perriman and Chris Hogan figure to be the main beneficiaries if the Jets top target misses Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

"I know Le’Veon Bell is the all-pro, highest-paid, big-play guy with the all-world reputation, but the Jets are getting far more production out of Gore," wrote Connor Hughes of The Athletic.

Hughes makes it clear that Le'Veon Bell is the better talent in the Jets backfield, but Frank Gore is a better fit for the offense. Bell continues to "dance" in the backfield and defenses are closing in on him.

Fantasy Impact: 

The Jets backfield is a mess. Frank Gore leading a backfield at 37 years old is an issue and further indication to avoid all backs in that group.

Chris Herndon

Jets set at TE with Herndon

If Chris Herndon stays healthy, the Jets will be set at tight end according to Connor Hughes of The Athletic. "It’s fun watching how Gase uses Herndon, too," wrote Hughes. "While he has traditional tight end abilities (he’s a very good blocker), the Jets line him up all over the field. While I don’t think Herndon will ever be in the same class as Zach Ertz or Travis Kelce, he creates so many matchup problems for defenses."

Fantasy Impact: 

Hughes addressed the issues at wide receiver in the same article, which also bodes well for Herndon. QB Sam Darnold turned lemons into lemonade with Ryan Griffen in 2019, so the uber-talented Herndon should dwarf his numbers as long as he remains on the field. Herndon has the opportunity to be a top 10 tight end in 2020.
