HOU RB Mark Ingram - Week 5Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Mark Ingram is banged up, with an injury during Sunday's loss to the Vikings in London. He wound up with 13 touches for 43 yards. Alvin Kamara is likely to return this week, so Ingram won't have much fantasy value. Granted, he didn't have a lot with Kamara out.

HOU RB Mark Ingram - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Carolina Panthers

In the absence of Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards and caught two passes for three yards. Not bad in a spot start, but as long as Kamara is active, Ingram isn't very fantasy-relevant anymore.

Mark Ingram cracks our top-50 running backs this week, but if 2021 is any indication, Ingram won't have the same role he had the first time he was in New Orleans. Alvin Kamara still runs the show in New Orleans. Ingram is just along for the ride.

Week 17 vs Panthers

Mark Ingram has seemingly been settled into his old role/Latavius Murray's old role in New Orleans and has seen less than half of the offensive snaps in the last three games he's played in and hasn't cracked 30 total yards since Week 11. Interestingly enough, Ingram is facing the Panthers for the second time this season, but of course, that first meeting was in Week 3 when he was still a Texan. He had 21 yards on six carries that night. Ingram is a borderline flex play for the finals.

Week 16 vs Dolphins

Mark Ingram returned to the lineup last week against the Bucs and totaled a whopping 18 yards on 11 touches. Miami is almost as good as Tampa against the run and it seems Ingram is back to his lighter role as the spell back for Alvin Kamara. But it is going to be very interesting to see how New Orleans operates on offense with Ian Book at quarterback. Ingram is a deep flex play and remember, the Saints play on Monday night, so have options.

Week 13 vs Cowboys

Mark Ingram should also be back in the lineup after missing last week against the Bills, meaning the Saints will have their full assortment in the backfield. And it wouldn't be surprising to see Ingram get a solid workload this week if New Orleans wants to ease Alvin Kamara back into the lineup. In any event, it's a tough matchup against a strong Dallas run defense, No. 7 in our defense rankings against opposing running backs. Ingram is a good flex candidate this week.

Update: Ingram gets a bump up as Alvin Kamara will not play against the Cowboys.

Week 12 vs Bills

Mark Ingram had himself another fine day Sunday, totaling 113 yards against the Eagles. But he suddenly popped up on the injury report and didn't take part in Tuesday's walkthrough. We'll certainly keep an eye out on this but if Ingram can't go, Tony Jones is set to receive a lot of work Thursday. Normally we would say the Bills are a tough matchup, but we all saw what Jonathan Taylor did to them on Sunday. Ingram is no Taylor, but he still has the ability to do some work on Buffalo.
