JAX QB Mac Jones - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Las Vegas Raiders

Who would have thought it would be against the Jets that Mac Jones would have his best day of the season? But sure enough, Jones threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns and added 29 rushing yards. He gets the Raiders this week and doesn't have to worry about Maxx Crosby breathing down his neck. That said, with all the options available, we wouldn't blame you for thinking Jones is too risky for a fantasy semifinal, even in a favorable matchup. He does have some DFS intrigue.

JAX QB Mac Jones - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tennessee Titans

Mac Jones is now the starter for the rest of the season after Trevor Lawrence landed on injured reserve with a concussion. Jones' outing against the Vikings and Lions a few weeks ago wasn't great, but he wasn't all that bad against the Texans. He threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the loss and connected well with Brian Thomas, a connection that should continue to grow as the weeks go on. He does face a Titans team is No. 1 in passing yards per game allowed. Jones checks in at No. 25 this week, very low considering six teams are on a bye this week.

NE QB Mac Jones - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Indianapolis Colts (Germany)

Another disappointing performance for Mac Jones in Week 9, including a killer interception that wiped out any chance the Patriots had of beating the Commanders. He has ten touchdown passes and nine interceptions through nine games. He has just two games without a pick this season. The track record isn't there and now he gets the Colts, who aren't terrible against the pass. Regardless, there's nothing to suggest Jones should even sniff a fantasy lineup going forward as the Patriots enter a very murky point of the season and as a franchise.

NE QB Mac Jones - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Washington Commanders

Patriots fans might be starting to wonder if Mac Jones truly is the guy. Four of his last five games have resulted in 200 yards or less and he currently has a 9:8 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The offense as a whole certainly isn’t helping him, but Jones isn’t exactly making things better himself. He gets a tough Washington front seven this week and you have to wonder if he’ll have time to throw the ball. Their offensive line could struggle against the Washington defensive line. Jones is a tough sell as a starter this week.

NE QB Mac Jones - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Miami Dolphins

Somehow, Mac Jones helped lead the Patriots to a win over the Buffalo Bills, going 25/30 for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Can he duplicate his performance? Let’s temper those expectations a bit. Buffalo has been hurting in the secondary while Miami continues to play well back there. And we can’t rule out Jalen Ramsey just yet. Jones remains a low QB2.

NE QB Mac Jones - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New Orleans Saints

Things have gotten worse for Mac Jones. After going just 12/21 for 150 yards and two interceptions, Jones was benched during New England's 38-3 drubbing at the hands of the Cowboys in favor of Bailey Zappe. Part of that might have been just the score itself and just getting Jones out of there, but Jones has had more bad days than good since the start of last year. And it doesn't seem like it's going to get much better as the Patriots face the Saints and their strong defense. Jones is a low-end QB2 but not really a good fantasy option until proven otherwise, which could be a while.

NE QB Mac Jones - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Dallas Cowboys

Mac Jones has gone back to being an average to below-average fantasy quarterback with just two touchdowns and fewer than 250 yards per game over the last two weeks. He barely cracked 200 yards against the Jets and now he gets the Cowboys, who are just as good, if not better, on defense. Jones is a very cautious start, probably better served on your bench this week.
