Scouting report

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Pittsburgh Steelers

For the second game in a row, DeShone Kizer finished with under 200 yards passing with 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He's been amazingly bad as a passer this season, with a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 9-to-21 in 14 starts. Also, a third of his scores came in a single game.

Kizer gets a fairly tough matchup this week against the Steelers, although he surprisingly played well against them (222 yards, 1 pass TD, 1 rush TD) in his first career start all the way back in Week 1. There's also a chance the Steelers rest their starters in this game, so it could make things a tad easier for the rookie.

Still, Kizer has been awful this season and shouldn't be considered as a starting fantasy option this week.

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears

As expected, DeShone Kizer struggled last week in a tough matchup against the Ravens. He finished with under 200 yards, threw no touchdowns, and tossed a couple of interceptions. He's now averaging less than a touchdown per game (passing) and over an interception per game. Not exactly what you want to see from your quarterback. Oh, and a third of his passing scores came from one game.

So not only is Kizer a bad option to begin with, but he gets a tough matchup this week against the Bears. If you've made it this far in your fantasy football leagues you should know better than to play Kizer this week.

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Baltimore Ravens

DeShone Kizer had his first 3-touchdown passing game last week, which was his only his second game with more than one touchdown pass. He's slowly improved as a passer in recent weeks, but it hasn't meant much for his fantasy production.

He gets a tough matchup this week against the Ravens, although Baltimore struggled last week without CB Jimmy Smith. When Kizer played Baltimore earlier in the season he had an awful game, finishing with 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. There's really no reason to like Kizer this week, and he should be viewed as one of the worse QB options.

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Green Bay Packers

DeShone Kizer kept up his poor quarterback play last week, finishing with 215 yards along with a touchdown and an interception. He also led the team in rushing with 46 yards, as his efforts on the ground are the only appealing part of him as a fantasy option. So far he has six games with no passing touchdowns, and only one with multiple. He's only thrown for over 250 yards once in his 11 starts.

He gets a favorable matchup this week against the Packers, but Kizer hasn't shown much to make him worth trusting. He does have some solid talent around him now that Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman are back, but it's wise to go somewhere else at QB in the fantasy football playoffs.

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Los Angeles Chargers

DeShone Kizer has been steadily improving, but he's still a risky option in fantasy. His saving grace has been his ability to score rushing touchdowns and gain yards on the ground, but his passing numbers are too troublesome. His 5 touchdowns to 14 interceptions ratio is too glaring to ignore.

Making things worse for him, he's facing a tough Chargers defense this week. The Chargers have allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs by not allowing many touchdowns. Kizer does have Josh Gordon this week, which makes things a bit more interesting, but he's still one of the worst options at the position in fantasy.

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cincinnati Bengals

As expected, DeShone Kizer struggled last week against the league's best pass defense. The rookie finished with 179 yards, one touchdown, and 2 interceptions, bringing his season TD-to-INT ratio to 5-to-14 in nine starts (although he does have an extra four scores on the ground).

He gets another tough matchup this week in the Bengals, a team he struggled greatly against earlier in the year. In his first matchup against the Bengals, Kizer had just 118 yards, with 0 touchdowns and an interception. Kizer is not a good play this week.

CLE QB DeShone Kizer - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

DeShone Kizer wasn't awful last week! He almost matched his career-high for passing yards, finishing with 232. He also threw for a touchdown while also rushing for one, adding 57 yards on the ground. Overall it was his second best game, but expect a big downfall this week.

Kizer, whose TD-to-INT ratio is 4-to-12, faces a Jaguars defense that has allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs this season. Jacksonville leads the league with just 6 passing touchdowns allowed and is tied for second in most interceptions.

Kizer is already a bad option, and the fact he faces the league's best defense means he's probably the worst QB option possible.
