Scouting report

WAS RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Atlanta Falcons

Jeremy McNichols has four rush attempts for seven yards over his last two games, but he did catch four passes for 15 yards against the Eagles in Week 16. The Falcons rank 17th in aFPA to running backs this season, and McNichols might have some deep appeal to those in need of help at their RB4 spot – should such people exist. But going into fantasy championships expecting more from McNichols – who hasn’t hit double-digit Half-PPR points in a game since Week 5 – seems foolhardy.

WAS RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New Orleans Saints

Jeremy McNichols has been a change of pace back for Brian Robinson of late but isn’t seeing enough work to make him truly fantasy-relevant. A hapless Saints defense that ranks 32nd in aFPA to running backs might allow him a few opportunities but unless something happens to Brian Robinson a mid-tier RB4 outing looks like the most we should expect.

WAS RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Tennessee Titans

Austin Ekeler’s concussion, and Brian Robinson’s injury struggles, should mean that Jeremy McNichols gets some playing time in one of 2024’s least-talked-about revenge games. McNichols played 30 games for the Titans between 2020-2021, rushing 88 times for 360 yards. He’s unlikely to make much fantasy noise this week, given a light workload and the Titans ranking sixth in aFPA to running backs, so unless you are desperate for a high-end RB4, you probably don’t need to start him.

WAS RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Philadelphia Eagles

Jeremy McNichols managed to finish as the RB32 last week but his season average in points per game is outside the top 50. A matchup against the Eagles, who rank third in aFPA to running backs, and a role behind Austin Ekeler, puts a hard cap on McNichols from a fantasy angle, and a week with top 48 numbers seems to be as much as we can expect in Week 11.

WAS RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Carolina Panthers

Injuries to Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson have seen Jeremy McNichols emerge as a surprise contributor in the Commanders' backfield in 2024. He hasn’t made too much noise from a fantasy point of view, ranking as the RB50 in points per game, but he is seeing the field.

Week 7 could see McNichols produce something of a fantasy-relevant nature with a plumb matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are 32nd in aFPA to
running backs this season, which makes any running back suiting up against them someone fantasy managers need to keep in mind. Still, anything about RB3 numbers for McNichols would be surprising.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. San Francisco 49ers
Jeremy McNichols is splitting pass-catching work with Dontrell Hilliard behind clear lead back D'Onta Foreman. McNichols saw nine touches and gained 51 yards in Week 15, and his floor is virtually nonexistent in such a limited role. McNichols is barely worth rostering in most leagues and can be dropped for someone with more upside if you like what's on waivers for the playoffs.

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Jeremy McNichols returned from injury in Week 14 to a nominal role behind D'Onta Foreman, only registering eight carries and a single target that he could not haul in. McNichols will continue to mix in behind Foreman this week against Pittsburgh, but his limited usage makes him an unexciting fantasy prospect. McNichols typically makes noise in the passing game and without more targets directed at the RBs in Tennessee, he will be waiver wire material until further notice.
