ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 @ Washington Commanders
Darnell Mooney had a very efficient 5-82-0 stat line on six targets in Michael Penix Jr.'s first career start, and it may have been even better had the team tasked the rookie with more dropbacks. Mooney's fantasy aspirations in Week 17 are directly tied to his intermediate-area connection with his new quarterback, and it's already off to a good start. In a game that has some intriguing high-scoring potential, Mooney should be considered a WR3.

ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. New York Giants
Darnell Mooney's production came crashing back down last week, in a performance good enough to get Kirk Cousins benched. Michael Penix Jr. will get his shot in Week 16, but questionable passing volume knocks Mooney down the fantasy totem pole a little bit. With the Falcons likely to lean on the run in a good matchup, consider Mooney a fringe WR3/4 until we see what the offense looks like under the rookie.

ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 @ Las Vegas Raiders
A bit of a hamstring scare correlated with two dud performances from Darnell Mooney in Weeks 11+13, but he bounced back in a big way last week, taking his seven targets for a 6-142-0 stat line. This came on the back of long receptions of 18, 28, and 49, as he continues to operate as Kirk Cousins' favorite intermediate target. While the Raiders do rank 4th in WR aFPA, Mooney should still be considered a solid WR3 play in Week 15.

ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 @ Minnesota Vikings
We are *way* past the point of considering Darnell Mooney's 2024 campaign a fluke, as he continues to string together very valuable fantasy weeks, oftentimes out-producing teammate Drake London. Since he popped on the injury report with his hamstring injury, he has dropped a couple of duds on us, but this is a great rebound spot against a Vikings team that ranks 31st in WR aFPA. Consider him a high-end WR3 in Week 14.

ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
We are *way* past the point of considering Darnell Mooney's 2024 campaign a fluke, as he continues to string together very valuable fantasy weeks, oftentimes out-producing teammate Drake London. He has plenty of usage to avoid a disastrous performance, and though he did leave Week 11 with a hamstring injury, he was cleared in plenty of time, so we shouldn't be concerned about his availability on Sunday. Consider him a WR3 in Week 13.

ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 @ Denver Broncos
We are *way* past the point of considering Darnell Mooney's 2024 campaign a fluke, as he continues to string together very valuable fantasy weeks, oftentimes out-producing teammate Drake London. He has plenty of usage to avoid a disastrous performance, but things should be tough against a Broncos defense that ranks 1st in WR aFPA. Consider him a high-floor WR3 in Week 11.

ATL WR Darnell Mooney - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 @ New Orleans Saints
Darnell Mooney has popped up for 65 (!!) targets since Week 2, finding the end zone five times and putting up more fantasy points than anyone had given him a chance for in the process. He is solidly the WR2 on the team, and actually leads the Falcons in routes run, seeing nearly 100% of the field when Kirk Cousins drops back. Mooney is on pace to have his best season since his sophomore year back in 2021, and has proven that he needs to be considered a low-end WR2 in fantasy.

If London were to miss this game, he jumps from "low-end" to "high-end".
