Scouting report

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Green Bay Packers
Elijah Moore had one reception for 11 yards and has struggled from a fantasy standpoint. His highest yardage total this season has been 53 yards and his teammates Garrett Wilson and Corey Davis have climbed ahead of him in the fantasy rankings.

At this point, Moore is probably not worthy of a roster spot until we start seeing better numbers from him. If you do hold onto him, keep him on the bench against the Packers.

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Miami Dolphins
Elijah Moore was expected to be the Jets big-play receiver during his second season, but it hasn't gone that way yet. His numbers have been consistent with receptions ranging from 3 to 5 in the four games and the receiving yards have ranged from 41 to 53. Not exactly what managers were expecting.

Moore will face the Dolphins who are ranked 16th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Jets have three receivers that are basically on the same level so any one of them could be the main target on any given week. Keep Moore on the bench for Week 5. We need to see better numbers to put him back in the lineup.

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Elijah Moore had a season-high 9 targets last Sunday, but it didn't produce an increase in his overall fantasy numbers. He has averaged four receptions per game with 49, 41, and 49 receiving yards in the three contests. So, he has been consistent. We will see if anything changes with Zach Wilson back at quarterback.

Moore faces the Steelers who are ranked 28th in aFPA to wide receivers. Despite the favorable matchup, the Jets have not tried to feature Moore in any game so far, and he is clearly behind Garrett Wilson in the receiving pecking order.

Keep Moore on the bench for Week 4 as he is clearly depth at the fantasy level at this point.

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Elijah Moore has had two average games to start the season. Last week, he was outshined by rookie Garret Wilson. Moore has 8 receptions for 89 yards. He is still playing 88% of the snaps, but he needs to have more production.

The Jets face Cincinnati who is ranked 20th in aFPA to wide receivers. We expect Moore will get more involved but not enough this week, even with favorable matchup. Keep him on the bench for Week 3.

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Cleveland Browns
Elijah Moore caught five passes for 49 yards which was a little disappointing considering he is supposed to be the No. 1 option in the passing game. In fact, four other players were targeted more including two wide receivers Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson. We don't think this will be the norm, but it also could be because Joe Flacco is the quarterback.

Moore will face the Browns who have a good pass rush and a good defense. The Jets will have to make more plays and that should get Moore more involved.

Start Moore as a WR3 or Flex for Week 2. The Jets offense has lots of question marks but Moore is still the best option in the passing game.

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Baltimore Ravens
Elijah Moore is easily the Jets' No. 1 receiver and showed last season he can eventually raise his level high in the league. The problem for any of the Jets is the quarterback situation. Even if Zach Wilson was healthy, those questions would loom. However, Joe Flacco does have some upside with his experience.

Moore faces a Ravens defense that was ranked 27th in aFPA to wide receivers last season. Baltimore did have a lot of injuries that affected their pass defense, so expect them to move back towards the middle of the pack of NFL defenses.

Moore deserves a start, but only as a high-end WR3 or Flex. The QB situation could be called unstable right now and until that corrects itself, Moore will not get ranked on his talent and potential.

NYJ WR Elijah Moore - 2022 Fantasy Football Outlook

2022 Fantasy Upside
Elijah Moore had a respectable rookie campaign in 2021 despite the Jets' inconsistencies and issues on offense. He had a slow start but then started making an impact Week 6. He had a six-week stretch where he caught 34 passes for 459 yards and five touchdowns. The league definitely saw what he was capable of and he should be the No. 1 option in the Jets' passing game playing mostly in the slot.

2022 Fantasy Downside
Moore missed the last five games with a quad injury so durability could be an issue. He also will probably only be as good as his second-year quarterback Zach Wilson. If Wilson is a bust, Moore likely won't progress. There are a lot of factors that could affect Moore which makes drafting him a risk and will hurt his overall fantasy standings

2022 Bottom Line
It's hard to say if the Jets' offense will be markedly improved, but Moore should still post decent numbers if he stays on the field. Expect 60 receptions for about 800 yards. However, his ADP of 80 is probably a slight reach for what will probably be a WR4. He is ranked the 38th wide receiver overall.
