LAR WR Ben Skowronek - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Green Bay Packers

One of the biggest surprises from Baker Mayfield’s first start was the chemistry he showed with Ben Skowronek. Skowronek paced the team in receptions with seven and receiving yards with 89 vs. a susceptible Raiders secondary. Not only did he lead the team in most receiving categories, but he was second in targets (8) and routes (37). Of course, fellow wide receiver Van Jefferson grabbed the headlines with his game-winning catch from last week, but from a fantasy perspective, the most encouraging game came from Skowronek. His strong underlying usage along with his production does give him the strongest outlook heading into Week 15. However, until we see Mayfield put up a solid performance vs. a solid defense like the Packers this week, it’s best to take a wait-and-see approach with all these skill position players this week.

LAR WR Ben Skowronek - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at New Orleans Saints

After back-to-back weeks playing behind Van Jefferson, Ben Skowronek found his way back onto the field ahead of Jefferson in Week 10. After Cooper Kupp went down last week Skowronek led the team in routes and was third on his team in targets with five. It is too early to tell which player will lead the team in slot routes, but Skowronek and Allen Robinson both split time on the inside in Week 10. This could lead to a few more targets for Skowronek rest of the season. The Rams’ offense has struggled so much this season that it will be best to take a wait-and-see approach, but Skowronek is worth a stash to see if he ends up getting the primary slot role in this offense moving forward.

LAR WR Ben Skowronek - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Dallas Cowboys

With Van Jefferson on IR for the next four weeks, Ben Skowronek should be locked into his role through the Week 7 bye. This role has seen just 3-4 targets a week, and produced (4-66), (2-16), and (2-33) receiving lines after his six-target performance in Week 1. At this point with Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee dominating looks, Skowronek is best left on waivers.

LAR WR Ben Skowronek - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Arizona Cardinals

After Week 1 the world shook as Ben Skowronek took his first steps to becoming the new WR2 for the Los Angeles Rams. Unfortunately for our sake, as quickly as Skowronek rose to the top he just as quickly fell to the bottom. In all seriousness, Skowronek returned to his rightful place in the target pecking order seeing just three targets catching 2-18. Allen Robinson’s role will continue to grow in the offense as he builds chemistry with Stafford, and with Van Jefferson set to return in the next few weeks, Skowronek can be left on the waiver wire.

LAR WR Ben Skowronek - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Atlanta Falcons

The loss of Odell Beckham, Jr., Robert Woods, and Van Jefferson has created a void at the WR3 spot for the Rams. Even with all that movement at the position, a lot of us probably wouldn’t have seen Ben Skowronek playing a featured role in this offense. However, in Week 1 he did just that. Skowronek ran a route on 44 of 50 Matthew Stafford drop-backs. This high usage led to six targets on the day for Skowronek. Those six targets were third on the team. Now the production wasn’t there as he only turned those six targets into 4-25. However, he outshined fellow wide receiver Allen Robinson in Week 1. Skowronek isn’t a recommended play in season-long leagues, but his low price of $3,300 on DraftKings makes him an intriguing buy-down option for Week 2.
