DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Amon-Ra St. Brown is dealing with a knee injury but seems fine and should play Sunday. St. Brown remains a safe play. So far this season, he has 12 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown including 102 yards in Week 2 against the Seahawks before leaving due to cramping. Atlanta presents a bit of a tough matchup as their pass defense has been pretty good through two weeks. But as long as he is on the field, St. Brown is just fine for fantasy purposes.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Shocker, Amon-Ra St. Brown scored a touchdown. He saw 9 targets and had a 6-71-1 line in Detroit's big win over the Chiefs in Week 1. At this point, St. Brown is matchup-proof. He's a top-five receiver this week against the Seahawks and there is really no reason to bench him. Ride the hot hand.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Kansas City Chiefs

There doesn’t seem to be any injury concerns right now for Amon-Ra St. Brown, who dealt with a minor ankle injury in August. He’s ready to go and ready to help the Lions get off to a fast start against a young Chiefs defense, one that may not have DT Chris Jones due to his contract holdout. QB Jared Goff will likely be throwing his way a ton Thursday as Jameson Williams begins his six-game suspension for gambling. The Lions don’t have too many other options on the outside, so the Sun God will see plenty of volume for the first month-plus. He’s become about as safe as they come at the wide receiver position in fantasy, so don’t worry about him at all.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Amon-Ra St. Brown was strong as a rookie. He was even stronger in his second year. At this point, we're all aware of the upside of St. Brown, who has almost 200 catches in his first two seasons. He's almost a shoo-in for 100 catches and 1,000 yards.

Fantasy Downside
If there's anything to nitpick with St. Brown, it's that he may see more focus from defenses, at least in the first six weeks of the season, with Jameson Williams suspended for violating the league's gambling policy. Other than that, St. Brown is a safe bet.

2023 Bottom Line
The bottom line on St. Brown is he's a great receiver and one you really don't have to worry about on a weekly basis. Detroit is better overall on offense thanks to the steadiness of Jared Goff and still having offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. The Sun God is a top-ten wide receiver option and probably one of the safest options at the top of the board.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Chicago Bears

Amon-Ra St. Brown must love the number 76. For the third time this season, St. Brown caught 7 passes for 76 yards, including back-to-back weeks. That makes six games out of seven where St. Brown recorded at least 75 receiving yards. Jared Goff is looking his way and St. Brown continues to make plays. There's no reason to shy away from him in the championship round. Ride him to a title.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Carolina Panthers

Even in a tough matchup against the Jets' secondary, Amon-Ra St. Brown still caught seven passes for 76 yards. St. Brown is just immensely talented and there is no reason to bench him now. Especially in what is a very favorable matchup against the Panthers who may not even have C.J. Henderson this week. St. Brown will continue to be fed targets and should you reach your championship game if you have him.

DET WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New York Jets

Amon-Ra St. Brown "only" had 68 yards last week against the Vikings, his lowest total since Week 9. Still, St. Brown is the clear No. 1 and has seen at least eight targets in his last seven games. This week, he'll get a taste of the Sauce, as in Jets rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner, though there may be matchups where he might face D.J. Reed or Michael Carter as the Lions move him around the field. Regardless, St. Brown has become matchup-proof and a weekly WR1.
