Scouting report

NE RB Rhamondre Stevenson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Washington Commanders

It has just been a disappointing season for Rhamondre Stevenson, but that’s not really his fault. The Patriots have just not been good on offense at all and that has severely affected Stevenson this season, making him a far cry from the stud he was last season. As we reach the halfway point, Stevenson has just 307 yards on 97 carries. It doesn’t get much easier. Washington has been okay against the run and their defensive line should have the advantage on the Patriots’ offensive line. Stevenson is still the back to own in New England, but that’s not saying too much these days.

NE RB Rhamondre Stevenson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Miami Dolphins

Rhamondre Stevenson may finally be getting back into the groove in the passing game. He now has 11 catches in his last two games and had 51 receiving yards in the win over the Bills last week. New England may need him again if they are going to hang around against the Dolphins in Miami. Stevenson had 60 total yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Dolphins. Stevenson is a bit of a hot hand.

NE RB Rhemondre Stevenson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Buffalo Bills

Rhamondre Stevenson had arguably his best fantasy performance of the season, depending on your scoring, totaling 70 yards and a touchdown on 15 touches, including five receptions. That was seven more touches than Ezekiel Elliott saw. Stevenson remains the better fantasy option in the Patriots' backfield. He gets the Bills this week and, as long as he continues to see 15-20 touches per game, especially in a week with six teams on a bye, Stevenson will see enough volume to warrant RB2 consideration. Buffalo currently ranks 25th in rushing yards allowed per game.

NE RB Rhamondre Stevenson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Las Vegas Raiders

Another game getting away from the Patriots meant a lack of run game and led to just eight attempts for Rhamondre Stevenson and a continued season of averaging less than three yards per rush. The offense is rough as a whole but the Raiders have been one of the more favorable rushing defenses for opposing running backs. So maybe this will be a good week for Stevenson. But even as that, he’s a borderline RB2.

NE RB Rhemondre Stevenson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New Orleans Saints

It's been really surprising to see Rhamondre Stevenson struggle the way he has this season. His numbers have basically gone down each week, from 89 total yards in Week 1 to 60 to 62 to 40. Still, he's getting more work than Ezekiel Elliott, so he remains the better fantasy back in New England, but the gap is closer than it was at the start of the season. Keep in mind too that last week really got away from the Patriots. The Saints have also been pretty good against the run this season. Stevenson is a borderline RB2 this week as long as New England continues to lean on him.

NE RB Rhamondre Stevenson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Dallas Cowboys

Rhamondre Stevenson continues to see the bulk of the carries for the Patriots, but the production hasn’t quite been what we’ve expected so far from him. The Patriots have also been pleasantly surprised by Ezekiel Elliott (80 rushing yards vs. Jets). Still, Stevenson is the lead back for the Patriots and should continue to see work in the passing game despite catching just one pass in Week 3 in a game where both offenses struggled.

NE RB Rhemondre Stevenson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at New York Jets

It's been a rough start for Rhamondre Stevenson, who has just 75 yards rushing through two games. He does also have 74 receiving yards through two games, so it isn't all bad and he did score a touchdown against the Dolphins. He remains the lead back in New England, so there's no worry there. But it doesn't get any easier for Stevenson and the Patriots. A road trip to a very hungry Jets team awaits. So far, only one running back (Tony Pollard) has eclipsed 50 rushing yards against the Jets. His receiving ability helps keep him with solid value, especially with the improvement from quarterback Mac Jones.
