Fantasy Impact: 

Fred Jackson is inactive as expected. Multiple reports say that Bryce Brown is starting at RB for the Bills, which is encouraging news for those owners depending on him this week. In the last two weeks, Anthony Dixon has out-carried him 31 to 14, but the ratio was 9:7 in Week 10 and Brown caught six passes against the Chiefs, out-touching Dixon 13 to 9. Brown looked explosive and particularly good in the passing game, so he’s a low-end RB2 in standard and a solid RB2 in PPR formats.

With Goodwin out, Mike Williams returns to the active roster.

The Buffalo Bills are signing former Dallas Cowboys running back Phillip Tanner, according to a league source.

The Bills needed help at running back with injuries to C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. Tanner has visited the San Francisco 49ers this year and previously worked out for the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts.

Tanner spent the last three seasons with the Cowboys and rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns, as well as nine receptions for 93 yards. He recorded 21 special teams tackles.

Fantasy Impact: 

Tanner will be behind Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown.

The Colts signed RB Phillip Tanner, 5-10, 208 pounds, who spent the last three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2011-13), where he recorded 56 carries for 149 yards and two touchdowns, as well as nine receptions for 93 yards.

He also made 21 special teams tackles. In 2013, he tied a career-high with nine special teams stops, while adding nine rushing attempts for 12 yards and a touchdown. Tanner was originally signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent on July 28, 2011. He finished his collegiate career at Middle Tennessee State University with 430 carries for 2,024 yards (4.7 avg.) and 33 touchdowns.

Dallas rookie RB Joseph Randle would get the first crack at the full-time job for however long DeMarco Murray misses.

Randle had just 17 yards on 11 carries against the Redskins, but HC Jason Garrett will not condemn the numbers because of how Washington was selling out to stop the run late in the game.

Fantasy Impact: 

Many feel Lance Dunbar would normally get the start with no Murray in the lineup, but Dunbar has a hamstring injury and has yet to run since getting hurt in the Denver game. Dunbar is not expected to play this week. Phillip Tanner is the only other back on the 53-man roster. We've seen reports that Murray will be out and others that said he's still questionable, so it's a situation to monitor. If you're a Murray owner, Randle is the RB to pick up if you're in a bind and it's an attractive matchup against the Eagles defense. This week's game is an early start, so we'll know Murray's status in advance.
