KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Darwin Thompson could end up being relevant this week for the Chiefs. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be out with an ankle injury, Le'Veon Bell could be out with a knee injury, and it's possible the Chiefs would want to rest Darrel Williams with their other two backs being hurt. This is all speculation, though, and with no clear answer, Thompson would be a risky play in Week 17.

KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Patriots

Darwin Thompson was already a weak fantasy play, but he's even weaker with the return of Darrel Williams. Thompson and Williams will fight for scraps while Clyde Edwards-Helaire gets the bulk of the work. CEH is the only back worth starting in this Chiefs backfield.

KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Baltimore Ravens

Darwin Thompson finished with just four touches in Week 2 as Darrel Williams went down with an injury. Thompson is the third back on this depth chart, and doesn't carry much fantasy relevance. He may see some increased usage this week if Williams is unable to go, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the back to own in K.C.

KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears

The Chiefs have officially moved to a three-man backfield between LeSean McCoy, Spencer Ware and Darwin Thompson. All three were used pretty similarly in Week 15, and we expect that trend to continue. For the second straight week, Ware saw the most snaps, but none of the three backs really made a difference. They all cancel each other out, making the three backs nothing more than desperation flex plays in the hopes you picked correctly on which one scores a touchdown.

KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Denver Broncos

Darwin Thompson saw the fewest amount of snaps among the Chiefs' three rushers, although it was pretty even overall. Thompson had just four carries for seven yards, but caught four passes for 36 yards. Thompson is not a recommended play this week in a tough matchup.

KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New England Patriots

Darwin Thompson led the Chiefs in carries last week (11) finishing with 44 yards and a touchdown. He saw no targets as a receiver, however, despite playing 36% of the offensive snaps. He should see a fairly large role this week with both Damien and Darrel Williams out. But it's a tough matchup against the Patriots, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. And Thompson will be splitting time with LeSean McCoy. He's not much more than a desperation flex play.

KC RB Darwin Thompson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Baltimore Ravens

Everybody's preseason favorite Darwin Thompson may finally be relevant this week. Thompson has just six offensive snaps all season and two touches (1-yard run, 3-yard catch), but with Damien Williams likely out and LeSean McCoy slightly hobbled, Thompson stands tall. We expect McCoy to get most of the touches with Thompson getting a few looks. Likely not enough to make a real impact, however. He's not a strong fantasy option unless McCoy gets ruled out.
