Week 9 at San Francisco
Williams has yet to be active this season, but will get his opportunity this week with recent news of Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillon being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week. With Aaron Jones potentially set to miss another game to injury, Williams and veteran Tyler Ervin will be called on to handle the workload. With Williams’ inability to crack the RB rotation last season as a sixth-round rookie and being moved down the depth chart this season by Ervin, it is feasible that he will not see many carries against San Francisco. However, with a bigger frame and workhorse experience at Notre Dame, Williams might be called on as a goal-line and short-yardage back.
