Kellen Winslow II, who has been out of the NFL the past two seasons, will get the chance to catch the eyes of the Green Bay Packers.

Winslow's tryout, scheduled for Sunday, was first reported by NFL Network. The sixth overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft tweeted Saturday night thanking the Packers.

Winslow has not played since 2013, his lone season with the New York Jets. He caught 31 passes, including two touchdowns, in 12 games that year. He missed four games because of a suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The Buccaneers dropped their season opener on Sunday night, 42-14, to the Titans at home. Despite a difficult game, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins excelled.

He put together the best game of his career against the Titans, catching five passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Seferian-Jenkins had caught just two touchdowns during his entire rookie season in 2014.

“I always feel confident about what I can do,” Seferian-Jenkins said. “I always felt this way, but I need to keep on working, we’ve got to keep on working. The most important thing is that we win and that we get better as a team. The most important thing is the team, not me.”

Seferian-Jenkins’ performance was one of the best by a Bucs tight end in recent memory. He became the first tight end to catch multiple touchdown passes in a game since Kellen Winslow in 2010. In addition, he had the most receiving yards by a Bucs tight end since 2011.

Fantasy Impact:

We had some news stories over the past few weeks that pointed to the Bucs expecting big things from Seferian-Jenkins this season, and that came to fruition right out of the gate.

This wasn’t new.

“It doesn’t surprise me,” Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said. “That’s Keenan Allen.”

It was more like renewed.

Allen had a career game Sunday in the Chargers season-opening 33-28 victory over the Detroit Lions. His 15 receptions tied Kellen Winslow for most in franchise history. Allen’s 166 yards were the most in his young career. He caught all but two of the passes thrown his way. He made one-handed grabs, leaped for balls, turned back across his body.

Fantasy Impact:

Allen in 2013 became the 12th rookie in the modern era (since 1970) to have 1,000 receiving yards. That doesn’t happen by accident. He followed that season of 77 catches for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns with 77 receptions for 783 yards and four TDs in 2014. Fantasy owners have been disappointed with Allen since his rookie year, but this could be a sign he's getting back to form and could provide owners with a ton of value for where they took him in drafts.

Jets to re-sign TE Jeff Cumberland

The Jets kicked off what promises to be a flurry of moves to improve its offense by securing one of its valued skill position players in the run-up to free agency. The Daily News first reported Friday night that the Jets agreed to terms on a three-year deal with tight end Jeff Cumberland.

The organization is bullish on Cumberland’s ability to take that next step after flashes in his first four seasons. Cumberland, who will turn 27 this summer, had 26 receptions for 398 yards and a team-high four receiving touchdowns last season. He played second fiddle to veteran Kellen Winslow early in the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Cumberland posted the #5 FP/target among TEs in 2013, catching 26 passes for 398 yards and four TDs.
