Kicker production seems pretty random, but can add up and make a difference in my league. I have McManus, who hasn't done much in 4-5 weeks and was looking to switch to another option. Was thinking Boswell or Nugent, both with bad match-ups this week, and of course McManus has a good match-up. Does this matter much?
I'm not really sure matchups matter for K too much to be honest. I like having a kicker on a team that can move the ball quickly but usually stalls out in the red zone. That's why I was loving Eagles kickers so much (I'm an Eagles fan). I think Boswell and Nugent are both good candidates, but especially Boswell. Granted, the Steelers seem to score a lot of TDs too, and they go for 2 a lot, but that offense moves the ball so well that he seems to get a ton of chances. (Maybe because of that Nugent would get the edge but I like both of those guys)
Having a hard time trusting Gates at this point. He's really the only option to throw to (which can be good and bad) and this is a terrible matchup this week so odds say go another direction. But all it takes is one TD and I think he may have a better chance than ASJ, even if it's garbage time. I don't know that I could play Gates, but it my head I can at least make a case to you that that's why he's probably ranked a little higher.
Also TE for PPR this playoff week - Gates (worst aFPA) or ASJ (best aFPA)? Gates is ranked higher, but was shut down by KC last game! I'm starting Winston so there is that risk/reward involved too.
