Week 10 vs Bengals
It was a weird day in Week 9 for Boswell, He missed both of his extra-point attempts but also made a field goal from 59 yards out and worked his way to a six-point day. Boswell becomes a solid option this week, especially for those of you that don't have Harrison Butker or Younghoe Koo due to byes. Boswell was a combined 5/5 on FGs against the Bengals last season.
Week 9 vs Cowboys
Boswell was not needed for a field goal attempt but did go 4/4 on extra points against the Ravens. He's now 9/9 on FGs and 24/25 on XPs. He'll likely be seeing plenty more extra-point attempts against the Cowboys since Pittsburgh will probably be putting up plenty of points, in general, on Sunday.
Week 8 vs Ravens
Boswell continues to hover around 8-9 points week in and week out. He also still hasn't missed a kick since Week 1.
Week 7 vs Titans
Week 6 marked Boswell’s fourth eight-point performance of the season, so he’s nothing if not consistent. That could come quite in handy in an important game for the Steelers against the other remaining undefeated team in the AFC.
Week 6 vs Browns
Boswell had another eight-point outing in Week 5 (five XPs, one FG). His only missed kick remains his XP miss from Week 1. He's nothing, if not consistent. Three games with eight points and one with six. He continues to be a safe, but not very exciting, option.
Week 5 vs Eagles
Boswell was 2/2 on FGs and 2/2 on XPs in Pittsburgh's Week 3 win against the Texans, putting him at 7/8 on FGs and 5/5 on XPs. Boswell is projected eight points this week and is our No. 13 kicker after getting an unexpected week off.
Week 3 vs Texans
Boswell wasn't called on much on field goals in Week 2, but he did convert the only attempt he tried last week. He's now 3/3 on FGs and 5/6 on XPs.
Week 2 vs Broncos
Boswell went 2/2 on field goals and 2/3 on extra points in Week 1. He's our No. 11 kicker this week but it helps that the offense looks like it will be scoring plenty of points again with Ben Roethlisberger.
Chris Boswell has been about as reliable as they come in the kicking game, only missing two kicks last season. And with better quarterback play, Boswell will continue to see chances, including Week 1, since the Steelers could be putting up plenty of points against what looks like another bad defense in New York, even with the addition of CB James Bradberry.
Fantasy Upside
Boswell had 142 points and four field goals of 50 or more yards last season, making him one of fantasy football's top placekickers. He had six games with double-digit points and missed just five kicks—three field goals and two PATs.
Fantasy Downside
There's not a lot not to like here. Boswell will get plenty of chances.
2018 Bottom Line
Boswell might not attempt 38 field goals again this season, but he should top 30. If that happens, he should again be a top-10 fantasy placekicker.
