UFC London Blaydes vs Aspinall: 4 Props to Target at Prize Picks
Volkan Oezdemir over 6.5 minutes
Paul Craig often fights as an underdog and inevitably surprises and pulls off a submission. The danger will once again be live in this fight and Oezdemir will be aware of the threat. While Craig is a savage on the ground, he is only successful on 26% of his takedown attempts. Combine that with Oezdemir’s 80% takedown defense and it’s likely this fight takes place for large portions on the feet. Oezdemir will have the advantage on the feet where Paul has proven hittable but able to endure damage.
Muhammad Mokaev over 2.5 takedowns
One of the top prospects in MMA, Mokaev has been groomed for the sport from a young age. With only six professional fights, it would seem his MMA career is in its infancy but Mokaev sports an extensive amateur resume. Mokaev will take on former LFA champion Charles Johnson. Johnson brings a load of confidence and will not shy away from the fight. He will, however, be overmatched in the grappling department where Mokaev should have a huge advantage. Johnson is a good enough fighter to extend this fight into the later stages which should give Mokaev the time to hit the over on this prop.
Marc Diakiese over 2.5 takedowns
Diakiese will be a home country fighter with the crowd largely behind him. The UFC gave him a matchup that is essentially a showcase fight for the Brit. Diakiese has made huge strides throughout his time in the UFC and has shown a solid fight IQ. Diakiese is well-rounded across the board and has shown the ability to stick to a well-planned fight strategy. The book has been written on how to beat Damir Hadzovic. Hadzovic offers power but has shown nonexistent takedown defense and offers no threat fighting off his back. Fighters average over four takedowns per 15 minutes versus Hadzovic and Diakiese should be able to easily showcase his athleticism through takedowns en route to an easy victory.
Jonathan Pearce over 2.5 takedowns
This one is pretty simple, Pearce averages nearly seven takedowns per 15 minutes. The intent and strategy are there with Pearce and there is little secret about what he plans to do. Makwan Amirkhani is a willing participant on the ground where he is dangerous and opportunistic with his submissions. He has shown that he can be taken down by strong wrestlers and it should be no different in this fight. Pearce offers a pace that should see him be able to do enough work to hit the over here.
