Perfect Draft Series: Drafting 10th in a 12 Team League
One of my favorite parts of the preseason is doing the Perfect Draft Series. I finally get to combine my opinion with one of the best tools in fantasy sports, the PC Drafter (which is free with a 4for4.com subscriptions).
The thing I like most about PC Drafter is it tells me how smart I am (insert sarcastic remark here) or how I am really not that smart. It's like having a coach with you at the draft. For me, I was a pretty good fantasy player before PC Drafter, but it really has elevated my consistency since I started using it.
My assignment is to draft 10th in a 12-team, standard league. I am playing with a typical 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 K, 1 Def starting lineup and a 15-man roster. In my PC Drafter settings, I have taken into account my flex with 2.5 RB and 2.5 WR starters. Although my flex is most likely to be a RB in a standard league, wide receiver is very deep and very important to me in the draft.
I will be using PC Gold as my setting while the rest of the GMs will be using ADP.
So, here we go.
Round 1, Pick 10
The draft went pretty much how I expected to this point. All running backs with the exception of WR Calvin Johnson. The fact that nine running backs went already makes it even more necessary to take one in the first round. PC Drafter suggests a three including LeSean McCoy, Alfred Morris and Matt Forte. There are actually several players with higher ADPs, but I don't really care about that. I liked what Morris did last season (actually was a waiver wire pickup for me) and PC Drafter has him ranked No. 1. I didn't hesitate when I saw the suggestion.
