If you’re familiar with DraftKings or FanDuel, there are a couple differences to highlight. I put together this quick chart to show the differences between scoring across the sites.
FantasyFeud | FanDuel | DraftKings | |
---|---|---|---|
Passing | |||
Points/passing yard | 0.04 | 0.04 | 0.04* |
Points/passing TD | 4 | 4 | 4 |
Rushing | |||
Points/rushing yard | 0.1 | 0.1 | 0.1** |
Point/rushing TD | 6 | 6 | 6 |
Receiving | |||
Points/reception | 0.5 | 0.5 | 1 |
Points/receiving yard | 0.1 | 0.1 | 0.1*** |
Point/receiving TD | 6 | 6 | 6 |
* | 3 points for a 300-plus yard passing game | ||
** | 3 points for a 100-plus yard rushing game | ||
** | 3 points for a 100-plus yard receiving game |
Those of you who are familiar with FanDuel will have an easier time transitioning to FantasyFued, as I’m sure you noticed the scoring is the same. But if you’re more familiar with DraftKings, make sure to notice the drop in points per reception and the lack of yardage bonuses. While the bonuses can be tough to predict, the 0.5 drop in points per reception takes a bit of value away from guys like Danny Woodhead, Julian Edelman, and Darren Sproles, etc.
Secondly, Fantasy Feud is a two-quarterback site, meaning you start two QBs (pretty self-explanatory, right?). While it’s tempting to plug in Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck and call it a day, you still have eight other spots to fill and can’t do that to yourself. You’re much better off going with one high-priced QB and one mid-range QB, or with two mid-range QBs.
A Lineup Building Primer
When I start building my lineup, I like to start at the bottom and build up. In other words, I like to go through each position and plug in the cheapest player who I’d be comfortable using. I then go back and start taking steps up, so to speak, using the salary I have left (and it’s nice to be able to see the types of trade-offs you can make).
