Stacking the Deck: FanDuel & DraftKings Stacks for Week 5
This season at 4for4 we will be providing subscribers with not just Value Reports for the individual players at each position, but reports that valuate every stack in terms of projected points per dollar, or Stack Value Reports, to help you construct your tournament rosters.
A great strategy when constructing your tournament lineups, especially in multi-entry GPPs, is to develop a core group of players you really like and cycle through some of your favorite QB/WR or QB/TE stacks to gain some uniqueness and upside. If one of those stacks hit, it can greatly increase your chances of cashing in one of these tournaments if you have a solid core. Sometimes a bit of “chalk plays” sprinkled into your lineups are effective. They are consensus good plays for a reason, but to take home big money, you will have to take some chances.
Stacking is a great opportunity to take these chances and gain uniqueness and upside in your lineups that can help put you over the top. Here are my top stacks for Week 5.
Editor's Note: The 4for4 Championship is still going strong in Week 5 - and now we're rolling out something special! This week's tournament still awards 5 Championship seats and $7,000 in cash prizes, but in Week 5 you can enter for only $5 (instead of $10) and you can also win a FREE VIP TRIP to Las Vegas for the World Fantasy Football Championship Event in December! The trip will include a hotel room and round trip flight, as well as access to FanDuel's exclusive parties the weekend of the event. This will be the weekend of a lifetime, and your best chance to get there is in the 4for4 Championship. Draft a team now!
Top Stacks
Alex Smith ($5500 DK / $6900 FD) & Jeremy Maclin ($6000 DK / $6900 FD) vs. CHI
Alex Smith had a career high in passing yards with 386 against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4; unfortunately the Chiefs settled for seven field goals and no touchdowns. Against Chicago that trend should shift, as the Bears have given up the second-most touchdowns in the league through the first four weeks. I see Jeremy Maclin as the prime beneficiary, as he had a ridiculous 13 targets last week -- which he converted into 11 receptions for 148 yards. The game scripts have been advantageous to Smith and Maclin both this year as Kansas City is struggling to stop anyone through the air. As much as I love tight end Travis Kelce, Maclin has clearly separated himself as the number-one target in this offense. He has been used on a lot of high percentage routes where he's continued to rack up a large number of catches each week.
