Week 14 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Friday

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (right shoulder) took full practice reps all week. Bortles will be fine to face the Vikings, but it’s a terrible matchup, so owners should look elsewhere this week.

Rams QB Jared Goff (illness) took full practice reps again Friday.

Browns QB Cody Kessler (concussion) took full practice reps all week. The Browns plan to start Robert Griffin III this week. He had an impressive preseason (22-of-38 for 313 yards with three touchdowns and an 8.2 YPA) before getting injured during a less-than-stellar Week 1 outing against the Eagles. The Browns want to see if Griffin is the quarterback of the future. In his sole start, Griffin targeted Terrelle Pryor (7), Corey Coleman (5) and Duke Johnson (5) the most.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) took limited practice reps all week. No worries here.

Steelers QB Zach Mettenberger (illness) was removed from the injury report Friday.

Dolphins QB Matt Moore (right shoulder, questionable) was limited Friday after taking full reps earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 14.

Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (not injury related) took full practice reps again Friday. Palmer will be fine to face the Dolphins.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) took limited practice reps all week. Rodgers will be out there against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) was removed from the injury report Friday.

Texans QB Tom Savage (right elbow, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 14.

Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 14. Beat writer Mike Klis said that Siemian is “progressing toward playing” this week, so he may be able to return. We should know tomorrow, per HC Gary Kubiak. It would be an upgrade for Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. The Broncos play early this Sunday.

Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) took full practice reps all week. Taylor will be fine to face the Steelers.
