Week 16 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Thursday
Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (right shoulder) took full practice reps again Thursday. Bortles is a Sneaky Start given a juicy matchup with the Titans’ 32nd-ranked pass defense (in QB aFPA).
Patriots QB Tom Brady (thigh) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Brady will be fine for Saturday’s game against the Jets.
Raiders QB Derek Carr (right finger) took full practice reps again Thursday. Carr will be fine to face the Colts.
Bears QB David Fales (right thumb) was added to the injury report Thursday after taking limited practice reps.
Rams QB Jared Goff (concussion) took full practice reps again Thursday. Goff will start Week 16. He has a fantastic matchup with the 49ers, though he’s still Jared Goff.
Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder, right thumb) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. This is typical for Luck. He’ll be out there against the Raiders.
Panthers QB Cam Newton (right shoulder) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Newton will be able to play through the shoulder injury as he did last week.
Jets QB Bryce Petty (chest) took full practice reps again Thursday. Petty will start against the Patriots. It’s good news for Robby Anderson, who has 240 yards and two touchdowns over the last three weeks.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) took full practice reps again Thursday. Rodgers’ health is trending up. He should be more mobile against the Vikings.
Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) was removed from the injury report Thursday. Big Ben is good to face the Ravens, who will likely be without star CB Jimmy Smith.
Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (foot, hip) took full practice reps again Thursday. Siemian will try to bounce back after a poor outing against the Patriots.
Lions QB Matthew Stafford (finger/right hand) took full practice reps Thursday. Stafford will be fine to face the Cowboys.
Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee) missed practice again Thursday. Matt Moore will get the start in Buffalo.
Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) took full practice reps again Thursday. No worries here.
