Week 4 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Thursday
Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett (right thumb) took limited practice reps again Thursday. It looks like he should be available to play, but may not start if Jimmy Garoppolo makes his return.
Bears QB Jay Cutler (right thumb) missed practice Thursday after taking limited reps Wednesday. We’re expecting Brian Hoyer to start in Week 4. He’s a Sneaky Start against a banged up Lions defense.
Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo (right shoulder) took limited practice reps again Thursday. If Garoppolo can go, he should be the starter though he’s reportedly still in pain. Consider him iffy for Week 4.
Bills QB Cardale Jones (right shoulder) took limited practice reps again Thursday.
Browns QB Cody Kessler (thigh) took full practice reps again Thursday.
Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. No worries here.
Browns QB Josh McCown (left shoulder) missed practice again Thursday. Cody Kessler is expected to start again this week.
Jets QB Bryce Petty (right shoulder) missed practice again Thursday.
Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) missed practice again Thursday. Dak Prescott will continue to start.
Falcons QB Matt Ryan (left thumb) took full practice reps again Thursday. Ryan should be fine to face the Panthers.
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (knee, ankle) practiced fully Wednesday. Pete Carroll said that he “would be surprised” if Wilson didn’t play this week, and Wilson said he has “no doubt” that he’ll play. He’s receiving round-the-clock treatment this week but still has to travel to New York for the game. Seattle will probably have to throw in this one since the Jets have a very good rush defense. The Seahawks play early on Sunday.
