Week 8 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Friday

Browns QB Cody Kessler (concussion, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 8. Josh McCown gets the start.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder, ankle) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week. No worries here.

Browns QB Josh McCown (left shoulder) took full practice reps all week. McCown will start in Week 8. It’s an upgrade for Gary Barnidge, who averaged 5.8 catches for 80 yards and 0.75 TD in the eight games McCown played last year. Barnidge posted 4-37 on five targets in McCown’s lone game this year. Duke Johnson also gets a bump after catching 4.8 passes for 44 yards with McCown last year. He caught 4-44 (5) in McCown’s one start earlier this year. Terrelle Pryor was targeted 10 times by McCown in that game, catching three passes for 32 yards.

Texans QB Brock Osweiler (foot) took full practice reps all week. He has a great matchup with the Lions, who will be without CB Darius Slay.

Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (hamstring) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week. Palmer should be fine to face the Panthers.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back, out) missed practice Friday after taking limited reps Thursday and is out for Week 8. Dak Prescott will continue to start for the Cowboys for the time being.

Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (left shoulder) took full practice reps all week.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (knee, pectoral) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Wilson has been removed from the injury report, so he’ll play against the Saints. It’s a great matchup with a bad pass defense.
