Streaming Defenses: Week 17 Fantasy Football Targets
Generally, defenses have to be available on the waiver wire in at least 40% of Yahoo fantasy leagues to be eligible as a streaming option. This ensures we are talking about defenses that are readily available.
Last week, the Arizona Cardinals were our top scoring defense, scoring 24 fantasy points against the Giants. They finished as the DST1 in most formats. In Week 16, our targets averaged 14.3 points and, overall, our streaming picks are averaging nearly 10 FP/game.
We're in the final week of the season. Week 17 is here and for a small number of you, hopefully, a chance at your league's 'ship. Here are the defenses we're targeting for the final week of the season.
Detroit Lions vs. GB
Packers got shut out by the Vikings last week and have been knocked out of the playoffs. They've gone back to Brett Hundley and he couldn't do anything against the Minnesota defense.
Zeke Ansah is coming off a monster 3 sack game against the Bengals and should be able to take advantage of Green Bay's offensive line. He'll look to make up for his 2 tackle game in their first go around. Anthony Zettel looks to snap his 4-game streak without a sack.
Tahir Whitehead leads the team in tackles and is the defensive playcaller. He can make plays around the ball.
Darius Slay is their shutdown corner and followed up his 2 INT game with 3 defended passes against the Bengals. He's the leader in INTs. Quandre Diggs has three consecutive games with an INT.
The Detriot Lions defense is available in 43% of leagues and look to be a solid streamer option. The Packers are struggling to score and have yielded 26 total points to opposing defenses over the last two weeks.
